Hi Beth Could be several reasons. heating element or pump is burned out or it needs cleaning with vinegar to remove hard water deposits. If you can hear the water being heated. put two cups of vinegar and the balance water in the reservoir and let it soak and then see if the brew cycle will work. We hand to run this through ours 3 or 4 times to get ours to work again.

sounds like a loose internal connection, best left to pro but if you can remove the bottom panel you should be able to id the culpret. If its in the top portion (depends on where you tap it) it's a lot of work to get into that area.

Check fuse/breaker for that outlet. Try another outlet....

Cannot find the fault code . There are vidoes on u tube saying how to reset thr code By pressing the reset button . If this does not work youcan ccontact vaillent on there web page . I have a mate who works for them i will ask him as well

The P8 fault can mean many things when it pops up on your Mitsubishi Electric wall controller. The P8 fault is activated when the indoor coil sensor does not change the temperature for a set amount of time after the compressor is (or should be) switched on.

call plumber to replace gas valve, it may cheaper replace water heater. gas valve is not DIY

test for sticking relay faulty circuit board or faulty stat

Beware when working with electrical equipment. It may cause electric shock. Check the power supply wires, connections with heating coils. If they are ok then possibly heating coils require replacement.
