Grill will not light
If there is no gas check the tank, If the tank is fine look at the regulator. It has to be flat, because of a valve inside. This is a safety device incase of tipover.

Loss of gas pressure to burners on Jenn-air Model
If you're confident that you have adequate gas in the tank. turn the tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank. Once connected, open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow). Once the valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and turn it to it's highest setting. Does the flame height look correct? If so, light the remaining burners the same way. Do all the flame heights now look correct? If so, you solved the problem. Remember to always open the tank valve very, very slowly.
If the above didn't solve the problem, you are either low on gas or the hose/regulator assembly needs to be replaced. If replacement is necessary, you can find the hose/regulator assembly at any home center or hardware store that sells gas grills and accessories. Take your old one with you for comparison purposes.
Hope this helped you solve the problem. Happy Grilling!!

The center burner knob on
From what you have described, it sounds like the offending burner tube is partially clogged and causing the burner flames for back fire and heat the control panel. To solve this, you will need to remove the burner and clean it and it's venturi valve thoroughly. You can accomplish this with a soft bristle brash grill brush or an old tooth brush.
Hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa. Happy Grilling!!

Propane tank empty even though
Use a sloution of soap and water in a spray bottle to check for leaks at the regulator. Also check and make sure all of the valves are closing all the way.

When the grill is lit
The problem lies with the OPD valve in the gas tank and the grill's regulator.
To solve this problem, first be sure you have adequate gas in the tank. If that checks out OK, do the following:
1. Turn the gas tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank.
2. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank.
3. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow).
4. Once the tank valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and set the burner
control knob on HIGH. Does the flame height look correct for being set on HIGH? If so, light
the remaining burners the same way. Do all the burner flames look correct? If so, you solved
the problem. Remember, to always open the tank valve Very, Very Slowly.
If that didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's
Hose/Regulator Assembly. It runs about $30.00 at any home center or
hardware store that sells grills & accessories. If you replace it,
turn the tank valve ON Very, Very Slowly.
Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Happy Grilling and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Won't light! New tank, regulator is positioned
Sheldon, this happens a lot, but it's easy to solve.
1. Turn the gas tank's valve OFF & disconnect the hose from the tank.
2. Wait 5 minutes & reconnect the hose to the tank.
3. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow Motion, slow).
4. Once the valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and turn to HIGH.
Did the burner light and does the flame height look correct? If so, light the remaining burners
one at a time the exact same way. Do all the flame heights look correct? if so, you solved
the problem (with a little help). Just remember to always open the tank valve Very, Very Slowly.
If the above did not solve the problem, you will need to replace the grills Hose/Regulator Assembly as it is permanently locked up. You can pick one up for about $30.00 from any hardware store or home center that sells grills and accessories. Take you old one with you for comparison purposes.
I hope the helped you and Happy Grilling!! Thanks for choosing FixYa.

The propane tank regulator/hose has a leak and I
Are you trying to remove the hose connection from the grill's manifold? Or separate the hose from the regulator? If it's the latter, give up that idea. It wasn't made to be disconnected, despite there being a brass nut on it.
If it's the hose from the gas manifold, you may need 2 wrenches. One for the nut and the other for holding the manifold connection in place. To be safe and prevent some busted knuckles. Wipe the WD40 off the fitting, before attempting to loosen them. I know it's a tight fit, but be carefully persistent.
I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

My 4 burner Jenn Air grill wil only partially
The problem with your unit is less likely to be the regulator. The regulator is what stops the flow of gas through the unit and does not get faulty quite easily. But usually if it does it can always be fixed. Since you unit has been kept for the past 2 years what your unit is suffering from is simply a need for cleaning through the pipes which the gas flows through to supply the burners. Bringing out the unit and doing a proper cleaning of the entire unit. This should get the unit functioning fine again.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

One burner will not burn
If this is an LP grill and the flames are very low when all the burners are on, then try replacing the regulator and hose.
