You can use a key reader software program to read the key, but without the Windows 10 installation image you are stuck. They are usually on a hidden partition on the hard drive? If not, because it is a Compaq and has a custom Windows image, you would have to buy a replacement from Compaq.

Number one tip, have computers made for you and buy a standard OEM Windows Operating System.

The fact it is a tablet makes things a lot easier, you just do a hard reset as described here.

These videos suggest that the Operating System is Android and not Windows so you don't need an activation key.

this is the problem it needs reflowing. will not boot with this not connecting properly, and leaving this laptop on for long times like this it will shut down as you are cooking the board. and that will damage the board and other parts. might just be a better idea to change the board, if using windows 10 you need to install the original windows with the same windows key that your windows 10 was upgraded with or you will need to buy a new windows key.

To enable screen rotation, access the notification curtain by swiping down from the top of the screen. Touch the rotation icon, which looks like a lock circled by arrows. This should unlock
and allow the screen to remain static while the tablet is rotated

You can try a factory reset, try holding the power button and the volume down key on the side of the tablet then use the up and down voulum keys to select factory reset and push the power button. That should bring up a screen that says are you sure? Use the volume keys to select yes and it should reset. If this doesnt work, you have to get ahold of hp customer service.

It’s not a answer, but it’s step 1. Have you pinned down the power button for 20 sec plus? This, on most devices, forces a reboot.
