E2 error code means the evaporator sensor is fault.
This needs to be checked against a temp/resistance chart which may require the PCB to be replaced.Only service professional can test it.You need the device for testing it.

Obviously you realize that you shouldn't have to do this manually, so you probably have other issues but there are 2 ways to go about this. 1 turn the fridge off and open the doors for as long as possible, not convenient I know but it takes a lot to defrost naturally. 2 remove the rear panels and use a heat gun or hair dryer to carefully melt the ICE ONLY. I also find boiling water helps. Do not strike the ice or pick it in any way it is very easy to damage the coil.
