Cleaning screens is part of regular use of the dishwasher and how to should be included in the user guide. If you don't have one look for it on the internet by searching for user manual for your model number which can be usually found on the side of the door or frame where the door closes. Good luck.

Hello Skip,

Basically ensure water supply lines are properly sized (at least 3/8") not kinked and that supply valve is completely open. These also require a minimum of 20PSI, so ensure water pressure is to specification.

I could copy and paste all of this, however the GE troubleshooting site likely includes your solution: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17395

I hope this helps.

Hello Debbe,

Does the dishwasher fill with water, or is full and fails to drain?
Can you provide additional detail so that we may accurately troubleshoot? Also include the complete model number. It should be etched or stamped on a plate inside the door, or elsewhere on the washer.

Thank you!

How many cycles have you attempted? It may take a few cycles before the detergent pack becomes soft enough to run out and allow the latch to function properly.
Otherwise, if you can reply back with additional information such as model number, someone here on Fixya will be able to provide assistance.

Best regards,

Check spray arms again to see if the very end jet is blocked - or if the spray arm has split? the end jet is angled and that's what turns the spray arm. If you can't clear the blockage, you may need new spray arms. Or try putting the spray arms into a known position, and run the machine - see if they have moved.
The pump may be running, but are you sure it's pumping? sometimes bits of broken glass or pot get into the pump chamber and strip the rotor vanes off. Try setting the machine to wash, make sure you can hear the pump run, then quickly open the dishwasher door to check the flow. If you get a face full of hot soapy water then everything is ok!
Remember that a dishwasher isn't a garbage disposal unit - and remove all food scraps from plates before putting them in the machine. That's what often blocks spray arm jets.
