Fridgeaire upright freezer no serial numbers to be found anywhere was trying to adjust temp on front of door outside now unit says of and is not running how to turn back on???

tough one i guess its a frost free turn the thermostat adjustment to on /highest temp temp ...then off /lowest till the compressor kicks in if not suspect faulty digital display panel or thermostat itself agreed no serial number etc makes it very hard to help you fix this http://kitchen.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/frigidaire/frigidaire_freezer_product_list.html 26308550-4zkbh5ok4trbvla52ukeocnx-1-0.jpg

Frigidaire freezer, model: LFFH2067DW4. Runs constantly, 10 degrees inside, outside top and sides VERY hot to the touch, high temperature alarm will not turn off. What's the problem? Defrost timer?

I'm assuming Fahrenheit... (USA?) If you can get down that cold... but not seize up completely in FROST your timer is MOST PROBABLY cycling correctly... What can cause a refrigerator to work very hard... generate heat yet still fight to cool (Impressive when you think about it)... I know this is going to sound crazy... but your INTERIOR LIGHT. Never-mind trouble shooting... just take the light out to see if the WARM case situation improves immediately... Else you need to give your coils a serious good cleaning All else fails comment me back

The outer plastic coating around frigidaire freezer thermostat has scratched off slightly is it dangerous to continue using freezer

That's just a beauty factor (mostly)... Almost immediately peeled off of my kitchen-aid... Insise... No problem. I was told if water IS NOT FROSTING up on it... It will be fine. If water IS frosting... OUTSIDE THE REFRIGERATOR.... the dripping can create lots of issues. Place clean sheet of typing paper... just like checking those valves under the sink. Wait a few days.. check THAT paper. No drops = everything is great. Drops means you need to put some decent insulating wrap around the tubing to keep MOIST AIR from direct contact.. ELSE ... don't worry about inside refrigerator frost. Designed to handle & drain away water . (my opinion... NO problem (I'm pretty vigilant about my wife's intake ... keeping toxins to a low roar (she's a keeper)))... The brazing and tubing materials have not been TOXIC since lead piping days (decades ... wrong... generations ago)... Good to be thoughtful about these things!!

Freezer cools fine but will not shut off till I open door

Running all the time means you either have to clear/clean your condenser... Check for good tight door seals... and make sure the doors/vents are not blocked by any contents... Free flowing cold dry air inside... sealed compartments is ideal. Dollar Pull test: Use the dollar bill pull test all round your doors... (brown paper sack is cleaner & nicer): You can take the paper... close the door on it.. Pulling it out you should feel mild but constant pressure around the full perimeter of each door (or drawer). If you do NOT feel it the door/drawer needs to be checked for gasket integrity... and the door may need to be adjusted. New door gaskets are not terribly expensive (but most issues are caused by spilled food, cleaning or door adjustments = easy). (FULLY covered in every owners manual I've read). Consider purchasing 2 TAYLOR BRAND refrigerator thermometer & turning the freezer to the ZERO Fahrenheit area and the refrigerator to 33 or 34 degrees above zero (32 degrees Fahrenheit... being frozen eggs & milk (too cold)). Else... comment me back... We can take this all the way into refrigerant level check if you find NOTHING ELSE WRONG ((HIGHLY IMPROBABLE... but do-able)). You gasket is showing as no longer available... at appliancepartspros.com... So be gentle!!! http://www.appliancepartspros.com/frigidaire-gasket-door-white-216522312-ap2113453.html (Frigidaire 216522312)
