Personally, I've never heard of a standalone that will! O.o?

I can only record when the TV is switched on. The Scart lead is set up correctly so the problem must be a setting on the DVD but I can't find it. If I switch off to record it just tapes a black screen.
Please help.

I have a problem, that the Power on/off Display get never out - it is a loop - power on an than power off power on .....
I diconnect the line (power cable), but it is the sam again. There is no more - other funktion by the recorder.

That sounds like it has a backlight fault. A good TV engineer can possibly repair that for you.

The axles may have substantial amount of in/out play, 1/4 inch or more. Does the axle in question actually drive the wheel or does it freewheel?It's a typical differential so if you get both wheels off the ground and spin one wheel, the other wheel should rotate in the opposite direction.The axles are retained by the differential assembly (inside transmission) so if the axle is truly falling out, to fix it will require transmission be removed and opened. Probably not an economical repair unless you can DIY or replace with good used unit.
