I am going insane trying to figure out why my

hmm, it could be something simple such as a faulty cable from mic to pc, it could be a faulty input if you are using a mixer, could be a faulty mic, it could even be a piece of software running in the background that is conflicting with sonar and causing this problem. This should be an easy problem for your "engineer" to sort out. as seeing it makes it 100 times easier to fault find. Thats part of being an engineer!

Hi there,I am not sure what platform you are using or what software, but I would recomend unistalling the edirrol completely. Then re-dowload all the drivers and re-install them completely. Remove all traces from your recording software also before reinstalling. Please give a bit more iformation on your setup if this is still a problem.Best of luck

Edirol ua-25 not detecting midi but audio works fine

**** THIS IS THE SOLUTION ****

On the back of the UA25 there's a switch called "Advance" - this needs to be set to ON for the device to work as a MIDI interface.

Device does not power up from usb port. was ok

Be sure to try all available USB ports on your computer as some-times they get damaged and don't offer a good connection or they damage other components. Check your USB ports, make sure they look good, it's 4 flat neat connection pins/points. Over time they can be damaged, in which case a pin/point gets bent and pushed to the back of the plug meaning that it will either damage devices plugged into it or it will simply not function.

It might also be an idea to try this device in another computer to eliminate your computer as the faulty component.

Take care!

My new Vista laptop can't

It can't read the key because the program isn't compatible with Vista - you can check that yourself here
http://www.roland.com/products/en/Windows_Vista.html
Your only option is to install XP Mode in Vista and your HQ-OR in it. XP Mode can be obtained for free from here

I need new rubber contact

These are notoriously unreliable - the contact pads age whether they are played or not.

Roland/Edirol should be able to supply a set of replacements if you can track down a service agent.

In my experience ( in the UK ) their service sucks.

They have an ex-employee who does the warranty repairs from shed at home and that's it!

They won't deal direct with the public and their sales chain can't be bothered to order parts.

Good luck.

When i playback in WDM

1. check your user manual for clicks/pops.
this could be due to devices connected to the Edirol UA-25 or a television or microwave.
2. this also could be due to the setting in Windows Energy saving settings.
that is the Windows "sleep mode" and power saving mode.
3. this could also be due to the USB cable.
4. you may need an external filter device for the process you are using.
5. read your manual on Troubleshooting Noise ( clicks and pops).

Drivers problem for techcom sound card

Your sound card probably requires a different driver for Vista (it may be too new for the driver CD to include it). Google search it and check the sponsored ads. There are quite a few web sites dedicated to helping you find and download the right drivers for your system. Hope this helps!

Hi, I can't install driver

Check in "programs and features and make sure there is no software already installed for your unit. If there is unistall it and start over. I am guessing you are installing from a CD? You may have parts of previous installs that are conflicting with the completion. This Roland's site for downloads and they also have a support section.
