I have purchased an LG

According to my information LG electronics do not manufacture BABY MONITORS but I assume these monitors have taken the name of LG.
Please check the main global site of LG:

http://www.lg.com/in/index.jsp

Now all you need to check if to fix the batteries with the correct polarity, Now If the monitor was in use and in good condition- second hand- the monitor must mesh up and communicate.
If not check for any frequency control tab to change and mate to the required frequency.
Usually there is no complex action on these models and if you are not able to MATE the sets then there are issues with the communication sections of the monitor. If you can open the monitor and check for any possible battery leak that have damaged the main PCB or the main lines.Clean and reset.

What does BPA in feeding bottles mean?

Bisphenol A or (2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl) propane is a chemical which causes damage to animals and probably humans during critical stages of their development. It interferes with healthy growth and body function. Bisphenol A mimics the effect of the hormone oestrogen in the body. It binds with oestrogen receptors, but doesn't replace the activity of oestrogen. It affects reproductive, neurological and immune systems.

How to Perform a Hard Reset of your Garmin Nuvi 205W Does your Garmin Nuvi 20

How to Perform a Hard Reset of your Garmin Nuvi 205W

7113f9d.jpg

492a3d0.jpg

Does your Garmin Nuvi 205 or 205W Freeze at Loading Maps?
Does it lock up or stop working?

This tip will describe how to perform a hard reset of the device, and how to backup your 'Favorites' in case the hard reset erases them. The next step in fixing your Nuvi when it doesn't start properly is to update its system software using Garmin WebUpdater.

A hard reset (or Clear All User Data) has been known to resolve unit quirks and strange behavior after firmware updates. It is generally recommended to perform it after a firmware update but is not required by any means. However, if you're seeing quirks and strange behavior with your unit after the firmware update, it is a good idea to do a hard reset of the unit.

Backup and Restoration Procedure for Your Favorites:

The Hard Reset procedure has been known to delete your Favorites, so back them up beforehand.

  1. From the Nuvi drive, copy '/Garmin/GPX/current.gpx' to a backup location on your computer.
  2. After the hard reset, copy your backed up 'current.gpx' from your computer back to the '/Garmin/GPX/' folder on the Nuvi, but be sure to rename it 'temp.gpx'.
  3. On the next power cycle, the Favorites will be read from 'temp.gpx' into the non-user accessible memory area on the Nuvi where they are actually stored.
Perform the Hard Reset:

*Note that this will clear all user selected settings on the unit

  1. Power the unit off.
  2. Remove the battery and wait several minutes.
  3. Install the battery.
  4. Press and hold (and continue to hold) the bottom-right corner of the screen while powering the unit on.
  5. Continue to hold the screen until the "Do you want to erase all user data?" prompt appears.
  6. Press "yes" and the unit will reboot. This resets all your location settings and user preferences.

If possible after the hard reset, let the unit sit outdoors in the open for about 30 minutes or so to let the unit re-acquire the satellite almanac data.

You have now performed a hard reset of your Garmin Nuvi 205 and 205W.

I hope that helps.

This is a nice simple solution to a problem commonly experienced with Toshiba la

This is a nice simple solution to a problem commonly experienced with Toshiba laptops or notebooks. Please remember this is not a guaranteed solution as there may be other factors involved as to why your laptop is failing to start e.g faulty RAM.

However, this is a very common issue that appears with these laptops and hence the reason for the Tip. It is very simple to do, involves no cost and often resolves the problem without any further intervention.

If your Toshiba laptop has mysteriously turned itself off and is now totally unresponsive or appears completely dead and won't turn back on - then read on.

Symptoms:
  • Laptop mysteriously turns itself off and will not turn back on
  • Laptop appears completely dead/black screen/unresponsive
  • Laptop refuses to charge the battery when connected to the mains supply i.e. No charge light showing.
  • There may be a brief flash of the screen or power button when you try to turn it on but then it immediately shuts off again.
Solution:
  • If the laptop is still connected to the mains unplug it completely
  • Remove the battery from underneath the machine by releasing the locking tabs (or screws dependant on your version).
  • *Important*: With the battery removed - press and hold down the power button for at least 20 seconds. This is to remove any residual power from the laptop.
  • Reinstall the battery and plug the laptop back in to the mains.
  • Turn laptop on as normal and hopefully it should power up.

As stated at the outset, in some instances there will be other reasons as to why your laptop is not turning on. However, because these symptoms are a common yet often overlooked problem with this laptop, it is highly recommended to troubleshoot this procedure first before resorting to testing or replacing any hardware.
If the problem has failed to resolve using this simple step then please see my Hardware troubleshoot LapTop Will Not Turn On or Boot

This includes a video walkthrough to help guide you through the process.

Hello. These automatic shredders are so handy. You put a piece of paper [or two

Hello. These automatic shredders are so handy. You put a piece of paper [or two or three] in the paper entry area and it automatically turns on...........how convenient.................BUT eventually, most of us run into the situation where the @#$%^ thing won't automatically turn off..........and then it seems like we either unplug it every time, or start shopping for a replacement.

NO LONGER......Read on.......In most instances, a shredder that continuously runs isn't broken, it merely needs some TLC. Most shredders, contain two tiny sensors near the paper entry area. These sensors are designed to shoot signals back and forth enabling the shredder to turn itself on when paper enters the machine. After the paper has made it through, the sensors then tell the machine to shut off.

Sometimes these sensors can malfunction. This can happen when oil, paper dust, or debris covers the sensors. Covered-up sensors essentially tell the shredder that paper is entering it, thus causing it to continuously run. While this problem can occur in both cross- and strip-cut machines, it tends to happen more often in cross-cut units because those units are oiled more frequently and create more paper dust than strip cut units.

THE FIX: wipe the debris or oil or ink off the sensors. Here's how to do it:

1. Unplug your shredder and look for the sensors in the paper entry area. In the center of the opening, there will be two things that look like marbles - these are what you're looking for. (Please note - if your shredder has a safety flap over the cutting mechanism, you may have to lift it to find the sensors.)

2. After you've found the sensors, use a slightly damp cotton ball or Q-tip to clear away any oil or paper dust. You can use a small pair of needle-nose pliers or tweezers to clear away any large chunks of debris.

If your machine is a model that lacks the electronic sensors - such as a smaller deskside shredder designed for home use - you can still fix the problem on your own because those machines have mechanical sensors. These are also located in the middle of the paper entry and they look like small plastic dividers. (In most of these models, the sensors are white, but they could also be gray or black.) The sensors are depressed when paper enters the machine, which causes it to start shredding. Once the paper is gone, the machine stops.

1. Sometimes bits of paper can weigh down on the sensors, thus causing the machine to run non-stop. But it's easy to clear up this problem by doing the following:

2. Unplug the shredder and locate the sensors.

Remove any debris. Use tweezers or pliers, if necessary, but be careful to not press down too hard on the sensors to avoid damaging them.

Once again, after you remove the debris, plug your machine back in and you should be up and running.

Happy shredding everyone!

If you have accidentally deleted your photos from your cameras digital memory ca

If you have accidentally deleted your photos from your cameras digital memory card or even the HDD on your computer there is still a resonable chance of recovering them.

A full recovery is not guaranteed, but depending on the type of formatting used or whether it was a simple deletion of photographs it is quite often the case that photos can be recovered if the correct steps are taken.

First off - do not take any more photographs using the memory card in question.

The reason is, that should you overwrite the card with other photographs, some of the previous photograph information will be damaged and this will hamper the recovery operation.

If the photos have been lost from your memory card, you will need to have a card reader on your computer. If you have not got one of these you can purchase a cheap multi-card usb reader that will do the job from the likes of Amazon or any hardware/computer store.
See this example.

Next you will need to download and install a photo recovery program to your computer. There are several of these available to download for free from the net but for this purpose I am going to stick to one called Recuva which I have found to be the easy to use and extremely comprehensive in its options. Recuva comes from a highly respected software company called Piriform and can confidently be recommended as free from Spyware, Adware or Viruses.

You can download Recuva for free from this link.

Recuva is compatible with Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2003 and 2000. Including both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

You may choose to search for an alternative recovery program on the Net if your operating system is not supported.

Download the program from the link provided above and then run the install wizard by clicking on the downloaded file. Follow the instructions to install the program on your computer. This program bundles Yahoo Tool Bar so please ensure to uncheck this option if you do not want this add on.

Insert your card into the card reader on your computer.

One distinct advantage to this program, is that it runs a wizard when you open it which walks you through the recovery process. Follow the instructions on the wizard and select the look for photographs option. Next select the "On my media card or Ipod option" to have it examine your card with the deleted photos.

If you want to scan your computers hard drive for deleted photos select that option instead.

Important: Click 'Enable Deep Scan' to have the best possible result from the scan. The program will automatically scan for recoverable files on the memory card in your card reader or hard drive as selected.

Be aware that this program is extremely thorough - and depending on the size of your card or drive it may take some time to complete. Be patient as it completes its task. The program will display the recovered photographs and give a comment beside each one to say if it has been damaged or is recoverable. Save the recovered photos onto a new file on your computer.

Finally - once you have recovered and saved your photos - make sure to use your camera to format your card before using it again to capture photos.

This will erase all data permanently from the card including corrupted data and so reduce the potential for future corruption of the card. This will help to avoid problems of this nature occuring again.

Thanks for reading this Tip and I do hope it has helped. Please do register your vote for this Tip using the Yes/No buttons below.

Hello. Here is a great weekend project that anyone can succeed with. Under cabinet lighting is such an enhancement to the function and cheerfulness of your kitchen. My most recent experience with this was very successful. The kitchen really needed the extra light and, the home owner let me choose the fixtures. I selected Utilitech line Voltage Xenon Lights from Lowes. These units come in three lengths, 12", 18" and 24". They can operate alone or in groups, they use 110 volts and no transformers, and they have a high/lo/off dimmer switch built in. Finally, they can be installed using the enclosed plug-in cords, or direct wired, and you can link up to 600 watts. A twelve inch bar is 40 watts.

All of that said, all you need to proceed is about 45 minutes per cabinet, and the following tools: electric drill and a set of wood flat drill bits, flat head screwdriver, philips screwdriver, wire cutters, wire strippers, pliers, safety glasses and a small mirror. The mirror will assist you in tightening the screws as you install the fixtures under the cabinets. Turn off the power at the breaker for the circuit you are working on [unless of course you are going to use the plug in cords included in the box instead of direct wiring].

VERY USEFUL TIP: probably the most difficult part of this task could be mounting each of the light bars uniformly under the cabinets. Recognizing this, I made a template for each of the three lengths of fixture so that I knew exactly where to predrill and start the two mounting screws required per fixture. These templates were made from still cardboard, cut with a razor blade knife, although you could have used 1/4 inch plywood just as well.

This is a very frustrating problem and there are quite a few possible causes for...

This is a very frustrating problem and there are quite a few possible causes for this failure to happen with the Xbox. You can spend hours on the internet looking for an answer to this issue.

However, thankfully there is one very simple solution that is often overlooked when this problem occurs and I am writing this tip so that anyone who has this issue can check this out as first step in resolving the problem before moving on to anything else.

On the actual cable that connects to the XBox there is a little HD switch right on the side of the connector. If this little switch is in the HD position and your TV is non HD you will end up with sound and no picture!!!

Therefore please check this cable (see picture below for exact location of the switch) to ensure that it is in the position that is correct for your TV set.

8336a67.jpg

If this does not resolve your problem please work through the following steps.

1) You should reset the resolution of the console to 640 x 480. See this link for a simple explanation on how to do this
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/911059/

2) If after this you still do not have a picture - disconnect the cable that is shown in the picture above and then also remove the power cord for a total of five seconds.

3) Reconnect the cables - turn on the console and see if you have a picture.

These are the main steps you can take to troubleshoot the sound but no picture problem. If these fail then there is a component failure and your console will need to be returned for a service repair.

Please note: There are reports of people using a method known as the 'blanket method' whereby the console is wrapped in a blanket and then it is forced to overheat in an effort to melt any solder in the circuit that may be causing a dry joint.

I strongly recommend against using this so called 'blanket method'.

This is due to the risks of fire hazard and the strong likelihood that you will end up causing even more damage to your console for something that is at best a temporary fix.

If your console continues to have display problems after working through this troubleshoot have the unit checked by an authorised technician.
