Output voltage adjustment

Output voltage is based on 3600 rpm @ 60Hz. Sounds like your generator is over speeding slightly. Put a Frequency meter on the output of the generator and tune it to 61.5 Hz, that will get your generator in the 3600 RPM range.

Where can I find a schematic for a dewalt dg6000

Here is a 4.3 MB pdf manual for Dewalt generators: 2900 4300 6000 7000

http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/Dewalt-2900-4300-6000-7000.pdf

Dewalt has service centers and parts sales, you'd think they'd be eager to post manuals on their webiste. Service centers are probably only place to get parts.

Red light on charger flashes. battery doesnt seem to charge.

If the red light is flashing rapidly it means that your charger has determined that your battery pack is in need of replacement and a safety circuit will not allow it to be charged. You may have an actual fault in the pack OR it may just mean that you have allowed the pack to discharge below the manufacturer's recommendations and the safety circuit has been fooled into thinking that the pack is defective. You need to decide which scenario is more likely correct. Using a DC voltmeter, determine if the battery pack has any voltage at all and which connections are positive and negative. If there is zero voltage, then you probably should go shopping and send your current battery to a recycler. If the battery pack does show some voltage, that is a good sign. TRY THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK! You can attempt to partially charge the battery pack (while not in the charger and not in the tool) by using test leads to connect it pos-to-pos and neg-to-neg to a fully charged battery of similar voltage/amperage. Only connect them together for a couple of minutes. Remove the leads and test with the DC voltmeter again to see if voltage in the questionable battery pack has increased by more than a volt or two. If so, it is still taking a charge. Move it back to its charger to see if there is now sufficient voltage to not trigger the safety circuit and allow it to charge normally. Wear eye protection. Don't cross leads. Don't try this on an obviously damaged battery or one that feels hot.

Dewalt DG7000E stalls out whenever switch set to 240v. (with or without load) Runs fine and powers things with the 120V setting and plugs. Any ideas?

It might be one of the following: 1. Voltage changeover selector switch has blown - check if the power is still there before it enters the switch and still there after it leaves. 2. Breaker has failed on that leg - test before and after to see if working correctly 3. The plug socket has failed - Look for burn marks where wiring enters. 3. There is a fault in the alternator - see 2nd video down on this page for testing:https://www.generatorguru.com/help-me-fix-my-generator-repair-advice/ Hope this helps you. I just bought a Dewalt thickness planer and it keeps blowing out my circuit breaker,....which normally works fine and is 15 amps, which matches the rating for the planer. Can this be fixed?

It should be used on a 20 amp circuit. the 15 amp is the maximum your circuit will deliver. on startup it may exceed the limit. also your circuit may or may not deliver the power for a sustained time. do not use extension cord small than 12 gauge

I run my dewalt compressor off of my generator at

DO not turn on your generator you generate over your rpm level 3000 and will have an too high output and will burn your electric field of the compressor. First is to control your pressure check-valve on the tank of the compressor and if there is on the compressor brand model ? a pressure relief valve most on the pressure (pressostatswitch) then that will in most cases with a little hose also on the check valve and should work smoot but the check valve if it will not good close the tankpressure then it will give a very high pressure load and sometimes you can hear it , the checkvalve inside will have a spring and a rubber piece control for rust flakes or any problem sometimes the rubber part can also be smoothed on sandpaper. in most cases the check-valve and pressure relief will have problems on metal pieces then the pressure relief will blocked and will not close , but sometimes not.

Dewalt 6000 generator won't accelerate when using

Okay, I assume that you are referring the economy mode / idle control feature of the generator.

When this is turned on, the engine should run at a slower speed, until a load is detected, then the engine should speed up very quickly. Turning this feature off should result in the engine speeding up quickly as well.

Normally, this is done using a solenoid that is connected to the governor arm. When idle control is requested (run slower), the solenoid engages, and pulls the governor arm in a way so that the throttle is closed. When idle control is disabled (or load detected), then the solenoid sits unpowered, and governor arm is allowed to react normally with its spring tension, and increase engine speed.

Sometimes, a bunch of grit can accumulate in the solenoid body / assembly. Remove the assembly from governor arm, and the generator should run at full speed. After cleaning, replace solenoid, and test. if stil failing, make sure solenoid works by applying 12 volts (usually) to it, to see if it kicks. If it does, look for break in wiring, or at control board.

Good luck.

My generator runs but does not prouduce

The basic cause is the rotating magnetic field has collapsed.

Causes of that can include blown rotating diodes, blown regulating capacitor, loss of magnetic remanence.

Search google for things to try. IF it is only loss of the small bit required magnetism, SOME have found plugging in an electric drill that DOES NOT have a throtle speed control and spining the drill with it switched on will create enough field to start the unit generating. Blown diodes or capacitor requires replacement of parts.

If the unit is a permanent magnet type (usually only small units) then there would be open circuit in the wiring or the rotor has somehow lost the magnetism.

SOME units have brushes to excite the field with a direct current. Loss of brush contact to the slip rings or the rectifier supplying the current will cause no output of the generator.

In your case, the Dewalt DG6000 is a brushless type. The most probable cause for the problem is the regulating capacitor. IF the unit has been overloaded or a short placed on it, then the rotating diode(s) have probably been shorted. Searching google you will find that there is a method using light bulbs in series from utility pwer to attempt recharging the rotor. This will ONLY work if the parts have not been damaged.
