Looking to sell 2 Dataproducts 8524 printers. Any
Hi dont want to be rude but you are saying the old frase, worked well last time they were used several years ago. Well in all reality they will be really only good for parts as the printer heads will be dried up, the ink will be dried up, the moving parts as they havnt been used may need lubed, so really all you could do is eBay them as local pick up only for parts and maybe you may sell them. They are old and printers have advanced so much like all electronics tht they are so outdated.
CARRIAGE ERROR
Hi there maximum time we found it is a the head problem. The print head is what the cartridges sit in inside of the printer. For resolve the problem please follow these.
Open the printer and wait for the carriage to slide over. Some how if its not come then Unplug the printer & Manually slide the carriage.
Now Remove the ink cartridges from the print head & Use wet warm cotton swab or use alcohol to thoroughly clean the print head.
Repeat this until there is no ink residue coming off on the cotton swab. After finished it make the head dry then fix it back. Now Try to print something now
If that does not work then follow the next step.
Remove the printer data cable & restart the PC & printer. Then fit back the data cable & turn on the printer. Hope that's start working , if no luck then Uninstall the printer driver & restart the PC & Printer both again. Now install the driver of the printer and connect it with PC ,Turn on printer & go for a test print from the printer preference. Thanks & waiting for your reply.

The FLT setting would affect character spacing left to right by setting the distance the hammer has to move to get to the platen. Phasing affects character formation by adjusting the timing of the hammer.If your characters are missing the tops of all of the characters your band has been moved from the correct tracking on the band pulleys. Adjsutment is made with the blue lever on the right Idler Pulley, Flip the lever down to release tension and slide the band back to the pulley flanges. LIft the lever and spin the pulleys counterclockwise a few rotations. Make sure the band doesn't "walk" out again as that would indicate a problem you would need tools to fix. Also make sure the ribbon is tracking properly as that can cause poor character formation.
