Your mechanic is right and the error code means SMALL EVAP leak. This is usually the gas cap. Make sure it is tight, it might need replaced. It might take a while to go out too.

Disconnect power switch and then use an ohm meter to check if continuity is there when the switch is "on" position and open when off. If switch checks out the problem lies with the brushes in the motor - see if you can replace them to restore motor operation.

You would need to drop the oil pan to remove the con rod bolts to be able to remove the piston. Sounds like you have the heads off. You would then pull the piston out drop a new one in (will need a piston ring compression tool) reconnect and torque the con rod. Reinstall heads and other xompnenets. Not sure how long or even if it will run as there could be other damage.

Google it, using your year, make and model and the word torque.

Check the idle control module for proper operation. A diagnostic est will throw a code if it isn't.

On a petrol engine remove the spark plug and put your finger over the hole to seal it. Get somebody to turn the engine for you. You'll feel the compression build up - that's the compression stroke. If your distributor has a rotor arm inside, the rotor will be pointing more or less at no1 lead.

On my car, a Renault, the automatic lights can be deactivated using a setting in the menu. Maybe yours can as well. Have a look in the manual or online. Maybe ask at a Chevvy dealers.

The motors will fit, but you will have to change over parts from original to donor engine, like sensors, possible intake and fuel injection, etc.

This is a '93 Chevrolet. I think it should be equip with a transmission computer, and shifting sensor. If that is the case, then you shuld have check first the sensor, these are inside the transmission. If the sensors are fine, check the ECU (not the main ECU, but a smaller one for the transmission). This part have to be check from somebody with computer knowledge. If the ECU is fine, then you just need to fix your transmission. Meaning that clutch must be worn out. Just in case check the fluids and the transmission oil filter, maybe it's clog up.

I had this same problem this year with mine, and it was a failed solenoid inside the bottom of the transmission. I bought the three shift solenoids from the Chevy dealer, and with an offer of 600 dollars to replace them (labor), I did it myself. Super easy job. Removed the trans oil pan and unscrewed each one. You either have a short somewhere or your alternator is not working properly. You can take the alternator to an auto parts store and have them check it, it's a free service (ask first to be sure).

Disconnect the radio and then open it up and see if any wires are bared and touching each other, or maybe a component is blown and making a short circuit. More likely the Amplifier IC is blown and making the short circuit, and in turn is blowing the fuse. Look for a crack on a multi-legged black IC, that is normally the Audio Amplifier IC. Or maybe just take it into a Car Radio Repair Shop if you don't want to open it and that should be able to tell you if that Radio is worth repair to resell :)

the speakers might not be working,i would first check to make sure they are good and check the wiring to the speakers

my wiring shows no relay,wiring goes direct from stereo to speakers, have you tried to adjust the fade control on the stereo?

call local wreaking yard, they have exchange book that lists everything that will work

Have you checked the fuse?
