I am rebuilding a Hurricane 1700. You need an Oven Thermostat that will---
1. Have THREE connectors on the back (1P1T switch)
2. Runs in the range of up to 300 degrees C.
The fun part is taking apart the heating chamber and changing sensors.

There is another way to do this with a TWO connector thermostat and a 1P1T relay, find out on YouTube.
I had the exact problem, found a break in the brown/+ positive wire inside of the spring coil! This is why it worked when the motor moved into certain positions! I did a bit of a quick fix join and covered it in heat shrink insulation! It's now working again!
