Televison & Video - Page 7 - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support
Hi! I got a TV from a friend, and he said he was watching a movie, when he suddenly heard a pop and there was no picture, only sound.
Since I have gotten it, I cant get any picture (or sound for that matter). When I try to turn the TV on, it clicks a few times; it will do this about 4 times, but will give up, stop and will not try again until I unplug it.
I have cracked it open, and learned that when I unplug the Y-sustain board and turn on the TV, it will turn on! (Still no picture of course.)
I have done numerous tests I've seen on YouTube, such as the continuity test for the buffer boards, where you are to have one lead (of the meter) on one of the connectors to the y-sus... and the other lead running along the ribbon connectors for the screen. Though these videos instructed that the meter should NOT pick up a reading, mine picked up a reading at every pin, every time! Should I replace the y-sustain board? Y-buffer board? Both? Not sure what this TV is trying to tell me!
If there are any questions, comments or concerns (or instructions) that you have, let me know! I will do my best to supply you with the info you need. Thanks for you help!
