Casio TE-2200... | Answered on May 21, 2018

You can't get register keys cut since they are a secure system and it can facilitate ***** if your staff could just duplicate your key and change programming or reports. You need to see a dealer to buy one or find one on the internet

Royal Alpha... | Answered on May 20, 2018

Hi. You use program line codes and layouts from the manual on Royals. I haven't worked on many of them but I can point you to the common sections in your manual to help you understand them. If you haven't got the diagrams, they are in the programming manual. There's one on the net if you need it

They were a complicated system. If it is closed, it usually means it is not connected to the other cash registers by the network cable or the other registers are turned off. Also, make sure a user has signed on with their secret code.
There are a large amount of manuals at checkout tech for this model if you want to try repairing it yourself. Your model will be a UP3300. See this page https://the-checkout-tech.com/manuals/cashregisters/Sharp11.php

If it opens the drawer when you press cash button, you have just accidentally renamed the button. It is still a payment button. Rename it to cash and it will be fine. If it rings up an item when you press cash instead of opening the drawer, you have set the NLU into the cash button position. go to keyboard programming and set the cash button back to that position.

Try turning the key to each position and press clear button. if it does not stop, try an initial clear (make sure you do not do a full memory clear. An initial clear will only stop errors and not lose programming like a full memory clear). The initial clear will be detailed in your manual.
If you don't have the programming manual, there is one on the net

I haven't worked with that model but they usually will not print tax unless you set the print options accordingly. Look for a setting called print tax amount on receipt or print tax breakdown or words to that effect. If it is not calculating tax, make sure you have linked the department to a tax rate in dept programming

Also called takeup spool or journal spool. You will need to order one from a TEC dealer. They are rare to find anywhere else

If I remember correctly, the 420 allows clerk and cashier log on so try programming a clerk code. Make sure you don't program all of the clerks or cashiers or you may lock yourself out of programming. Just play with cashier or clerk 1 to test it. Otherwise, try printing out the cashier and clerk programs and it should show you what the current codes are

Common factory fault. look for damaged wiring in the back of the cash drawer (tray hits and scrapes wires causing short). The drawer circuit will have blown if the wires are bare. See a dealer
