Video Cameras - Popular Questions, Answers, Tips & Manuals

Dear Annie Laurie,
I sympathise with your problem - unfortunately you have posted your query in a forum dealing with video cameras, so, unless you intended to film the process of laundrifying your garments, choosing a different forum (and, indeed, giving more in-depth information concerning the machinery and the fault) might get a more useful response. BTW, I suppose you have checked the manual for that error code - and also that the door is closed ?

HDR is a clever piece of trickery that takes the best of two images that are taken at the same time with one press. What is does is takes the best contrast from the dark areas and the best contrast from the light areas and joins them together so you get one perfect image for contrast, brightness and detail. If yours has a line through it, it means it is switched off. Better to have it on.

But what you really need to understand is how and when to turn HDR on. It all depends on the situation, so here are some things to keep in mind.

HDR will improve many outdoor and landscapes scenes. Because these settings often have both dark and light areas, you will often lose details. Turn on HDR to compensate.
HDR is great for making the most of dim lighting. Just make sure you turn off the flash. It won’t work well with the longer exposure.
Because it is taking several different images, HDR is slower. So if you are capturing a moving object, or you are taking several photos in quick succession, you should probably turn HDR off.
HDR will eliminate shadowy or washed out areas. So if you are trying to create a certain mood, or photograph a silhouette, you should turn HDR off.

Beyond that, experiment! Now that you understand what HDR does, it’s up to you to see how it affects your photos. Some photographers make their whole living shooting HDR images, while others never use it.

Yes. What you need to do is physically remove the Hard Drive from the DVR and use a duplicator to create an identical copy of the drive so you will always have the original drive backed up in its original state. Amazon sells “external HD Duplicators” just make sure when you clone the hard drive you clone onto a drive that has the same size storage ea. 500gb to 500gb NOT 500gb to 250gb because it has to match in size to duplicate it, if you ever put the copied drive back in the dvr it will be in the exact same state as when you took the original out to make that copy... does that make sense?

Hello, Billy -

I have no idea where N1 City is located. Nor do I have any idea what business you are complaining about.

In case you do not realize it,, where you posted your complaint, is a website intended for asking and answering questions on how to go about REPAIRING THINGS. It is not a consumer complaint website for any location or business ANYWHERE.

Fixya receives questions from people worldwide.

I suggest you find the telephone number for the N1 City business which concerns you, make a phone call, and speak with the manager to discuss your concerns.

I am answering from the USA.

Best wishes.

The Sony Handycam CCD-FX530 manual is the same as that for the CCD-FX430. This manual is available at ManualsLib: . You can download the manual after clicking the Download button near the top left of the page. You will need to prove that you are a human to access the PDF.

I hope this helps.

Colour is often the first thing lost when there is a tape head problem. Many of the more modern VCRs had a built in head cleaner that rested on the revolving tape head for a few seconds every time a tape was inserted, unfortunately after a time the automatic head cleaner became so filthy it caused trouble rather than preventing trouble. I suggest you remove the cover and thoroughly clean all the tape heads, guides and rollers. Denatured alcohol and clean newsprint is very effective. After leaving it for a few minutes try the machine again with a known good tape. As a matter of interest; the colour can be affected by poor connections at the scart sockets and if you are attempting to view in the traditional manner through the aerial socket, the RF modulator or the tv might not be accurately tuned.
