Hi Andrew.
Hang the feeder approximately 5 feet above the ground, Make sure there is no foliage underneath that would encourage unwelcome guests, like mice, squirrels and even cats, to feed on the sugar water. If you wish to hang multiple hummingbird feeders, locate the feeders at least 10 to 12 feet apart.2.

Better to use the red liquid intended specifically for hummingbirds. They are fascinating to watch while feeding. They will hang out in nearby trees and wait for a chance to zoom in and drink.

Yes but add some sugar or something so you do not starve them. You can look up on line how much sugar to add.

Hello, Mary -

You can find a recipe for making nectar to put in a humming bird feeder on the Hummingbird Society web site:
https://www.hummingbirdsociety.org/feeding-hummingbirds/

The information states "No red food coloring!"

Best wishes.

Depending upon the breed, Peep for a small bird that peeps a lot or Squawk for a large, noisy bird. But any name will do as long as it recognizes it as their name and respond to it.

Goodquestion! Although most people are familiar with bird seed as the main sourceof bird food, there are other things you can feed your bird such as:
  • Water
  • Suet
  • Nectar (easyto make yourself)
  • Grit
  • Peanuts
  • Fruit
  • Mealworms

Hello, Brenda -

There are products named "seed catchers" and "seed guards" which one can purchase or mak. oneself

Just use your favorite search engine (Bing, Google, Yahoo Search, etc.) and enter these search phrases (separately), using quotation marks as shown:
"seed catcher"
"seed guard"

They do not keep seeds from coming out of a bird cage. Instead, they are designed to catch much of the debris from a bird cage. making clean up less messy.

Best wishes.
