Pump troubleshooting
What you need to consider is horsepower not size. The horsepower requirement for a house is determined by the area of drainage connected to the sump, the depth to the groundwater, the depth of the basement, and a few other factors. A 1/3 hp pump is standard for most houses.

Pump support
Follow these steps to replace a malfunctioning sump pump. If you are starting from scratch and want to put in a completely new sump pump and drain line, you should have a professional plumber do any actual piping unless you have an advaced knowledge of those techniques. Locate the sump pump in your basement. Unplug it to avoid possible electrical shock or personal injury. Find the place to disconnect the pump from the drain line. This is usually either a screw-together type union or a rubber coupling with hose-clamp fastenings. Both are quickly and easily undone. Remove the pump from the pit and allow it to drain for a few minutes. Any plastic piping or fittings that comes from the water outlet opening and goes up to where the pump connected to the drain line needs to be removed and saved to reattach to the new pump. Take the pump with you to your local hardware store, plumbing-supply house or home-improvement center. They can help you pick a replacement that requires the same power source and provides the same drain-line hookups and pumping capabilites. Reattach any piping and fittings in the same way that they were on the old pump. Set the new pump in the pit and reconnect the union. Plug in the pump. You can test the pump by filling the sump pit with buckets of water.
Breakers Troubleshootinf
When breaking oversize material the breaker is expected to break the material down the middle into two pieces. This is optimum production. If the operator has to re-position the breaker towards the edge of the rock and gradually downsize the material, production rate slows down. To assess what size of breaker will effectively handle this application, the size and hardness of the material must be known. If a 4 cu. yard piece of hard rock (20,000 psi or greater) needs to be broken in half you will require a 7,500-ft. lb. or larger breaker. If a 2 cu .yd. piece of limestone (20,000 psi or less) needs to be broken in half you will require a 3,000 - 5,000-ft. lb. breaker.
Breakers advice
When trenching, the breaker is expected to fracture a solid mass of rock into manageable pieces. The size of the material could be 100's of cu.yds, and the energy will be quickly absorbed. This is why it is recommended to work from a bench so the rock has somewhere to break out. We recommend when trenching in limestone or medium hard rock, to use a 3,000 - 5,000-ft. lb. breaker. When working in hard material we recommend a 7,500 - 10,000-ft.lb. breaker, and if high production is critical, a 13,500-ft.lb. breaker would be beneficial.
Kango 950 motor runs but hammer only engages sometimes
This is an indication that the hammer needs service. When you take the barrel off you will see the striker. There is a piston inside the striker, when the rubber rings on the piston wear out you have the problem you describe. time to replace the motor brushes clean and regressed, make sure to use the correct grease, Check the backlash on ring and pinions. Don't put too much grease on the piston or it will stick and not strike. Good luck I forgot to ask which version. This is for the uk atlas coco, silver with blue or red handle

Where can I get a set of brushes for a kango 950X
Unfortunately, you won't find them - Kango was a great hammer, but the company has been gone for many years and there are no parts available.
I would find a local repair shop that may have a different brand brush that is the same or bigger dimensions - by using a piece of 220 grit sandpaper on a hard, flat surface - you can sand them down to the proper size.
It will get you out of a bind
