you mean black screen dead screen, 100% dead. no Asus splash. the big battery is EOL DOA dead. we replace them but first run the PC on AC powerpack first , no huge battery there. work now? sure. if not do the long power reset, push power button for 10 full seconds an release. 2009 PC birth day the coin is 8 years old , EOL spec on coin is 5-7 year. so we test it below 2.9vdc bad or replace it , if bad it can not be ignored. no charger on earth can charge a bad battery , weak only not bad. and is the first to fail , batteries all, then hdd 2nd that is how it works, transistors can go 100 years, or more. caps less. , 20 years is part but not batteries, ask Elon Musk this, he knows . or read at battery university dot com.

If you have the ear plugs connected to correct output they should work unless the earplugs are no good. Try with another computer to see if they work and draw your conclusions.

what a shame sorry to hear that. number one,,dont turn it on anymore untill you dry it all out. you will need to open it ALL UP TO DRY THIS OUT,IF YOU ARE NOT SURE HOW TODO THIS,THEN GET SOME ONE WHO CAN.. i would not hold out that it is going to work after,its a shame you turnd it on,not saying its done any harm but it wont help the laptop. i wish all the luck that you get it dryed out and it still works.

assuming that you already powered off/on to reset it, then most likely the PAd itself is bad, you can buy a seperate new pad, but unless you know how to remove a BUNCH of screws and get to it then I would take it to a local shop or have a tech that advertises for 30-45 $ to do it.

If the only thing that has changed is the install of the AT0100 utility then I would un-install that utility. I'd agree that the wireless connection is sortof not the problem. The fact that can and are connected indicates that connection is being made. However, it could be an "ip" issue. If you are connecting through DHCP then your system should be able to pick up a new "ip" lease and it should connect though that could take just a little bit of time. You might go into the adapter settings and check your ipv4 settings and verify that it is selected for DHCP or an address with a correct subnet mask and Default gateway. A way to check is from the start button, type cmd and press enter. This will bring up a separate screen. At the Dos prompt type "ipconfig /all" This will give you the details of all network devices on your laptop and how they are trying to talk.

Hi Usually the files you download for programmes are ".exe" or ".zip" files. In the case of ".exe" files they are either executable, in which case you need to double click on them and follow the instructions to install the programme, or they are self-extracting zip files where you again double click on the programme, it will ask you where you want the files expanded to, and once expanded you need to find the "Setup.exe" file and double click to install the programme. ".zip" files you have to expand manually and then double click the Setup.exe" file to install the programme. Incidentally you must have administrator rights to install programmes, if you are a standard user, most likely, then you must either run the programmes as administrator (right click on the file and click "Run as Administrator" in the menu that comes up) or log off and log on as an Administrator with appropriate password.
