I can no longer get

ok so wifi fails we all know why the 100reasons, why not use a 2nd PC to see if wifi fails there too easy no/, ends all guessing what's up. your post is not clear at all does the internet work wired. yes/no using a real browser to amazong or ebay etc. that matters now what windows thinks, in CP wifi is complex, (when failed) so say what ethernet does? (real online) and learn that in the taskbar, you switch off wifi first to run on Ethernet. it will show icon for ethernet . and good. and browsing works. the web. if only 1 PC fails on wifi we fix the PC fails of 2 PC fail we fix the router. see?

I have installed the moto

sbg6580 or what? you failed to use real model. first off wired Ethernet is always faster.WAN (and the web actual) say wifi not wireless there are many wireless and wifi is but 1. there are 2 speeds, raw and real (throughput) latter is real. and is bits per second not BYTES. The 802.11a and 802.11g networks usually run no faster than 20 Mbps.. the answer is simple one or both wifi devices is slow either or both. the speed will based on the slowest one, called band width bottle-necking.. just like driving a car really , traffic and narrow roads are slower. or are gravel roads, see? so buy new wifi upgrades wifi 5 or 6, , 802.11AC or AX yours is old and slow and more money always buys faster cars or better roads or wifi. speed costs and is not free. read here first but gee upgrades are the answer. but no hardware told yet now just the modem/router your SB Wi-Fi N300 2.4Ghz + N300 5GHz Dual Band Router. The IEEE 802.11 Standard on Wireless LANs (Revision B, Revision G, and Revision N so if he PC is not N or is not dual bad it can not do N speeds or is B or G speed now) 100 Mbps is max speed on "N" 11N and must be close to the router and both bands enabled on both ends and no huge traffic on those bands in your home or IOT there or in the hood (crowded apartments omg bad) your router is not junk, but most old PCs are unless upgraded. and lots of IOT things are 1 band and slow. no brink or concrete walls from PC to router. wifi is radio and does not link dense obstruction LINE OF SIGHT.

SB4100 stopped working suddenly

well that takes 4 basic things, ISP not down model show LED online does it. and router not dead. and PC not dead. so connect PC wired ethernet to modem directly work now? that ipconfig tells me router is dead, if wired, ethernet. wifi is last, we work that last not first. we own a $15 ,15foot ethernet cable for your kit. or call a tech that has one. if 2 PC Fail WIRED DIRECT TO ROUTER. THEN ROUTER IS DEAD (LEDS MUST BE LOOKED AT FIRST THERE) SO WE CALL ISP AND THEY FIX IT , IT IS THEIR ROUTER ALSO ISP GO DOWN FROM TIME TO TIME. SO AGAIN MODEM LED SHOW WHAT?

I have the motorola sbv5120

led 2 to 9, gee it has 8 LED status lamps and not told you which one flashes nor what all do. sure #2 is on power sure. the SBV is not a router at all so forgot to tell router or is just 1 PC plugged into ethernet ports> yes/no? we can not see what you have or connected. page 2 actual covers all that LED stuff in the manual RTM? PDF#7 well kinks led is data up or down. any data moving up or down blicks this light so that is good blinking never bad. not told at all , what PC is this. nor OS nor if PC using wifi or wired Etherenet. the later is best for testing LED #5 ONLINE is what matters here first. LED #5 must glow or call the IPS to get that working if LED #5 does glow. use ethernet wired to SB Led 7 and 8 is telephone VOIP so not important now. not told wifi or ethenet fails, or both not told if PC wired ethernet to top rear of SBV works if at PC you ping 1.1.1.1 this works internet is good but DNS fails if you ping same and it fails internet is dead but led #5 MUST GLOW. The pc also shows connected in the task bard for SURE using ethernet if all that passes, we then fix bad love/hate WIFI ask how.

Motorola SURFboard SBG900 DOCSIS 2.0 Wireless Cable Modem Gateway (Black) is just a modem and is not router or wifi and yes there are 2 password here, 1 yours as read only , user and #2, the ISP has admin login only never YOU. so why not RTM page 28 (user side) https://www.manualslib.com/manual/106714/Motorola-Sbg900.html?page=28&term=192&selected=1#manual google first hit on topic, 1 modem.

I have a Motorola SURFboard

last man running XP the virus magnet , oops???? no future there. no PC told no wifi card model told. and what 2wire means I guess 2 antenna wires sure. SBG6580 this is cable mode + router both in one, AIO +wifi 'N" grade step 1; the PC works great i wired mode ethernet to rear of surfboard no, then the modem is failing call the ISP. yes, wired works so now comes pesky love/hate wifi next. 1billion posts on the web, pain. ... I can fix them all but is hard work. rule one in this regard, NO PC told but WPA (1) must be enaBled the router side. of surfboard. I have all mine set to wpa2/3. (wep and wpa1 blocked) as did yours new, wpa1 is off. but you do as you want if old things in the home that only do wpa1. then what you set. the SSID and PW are both , case sensitive. worse yet some characters are not allowed either end. page 24 in your manual states, RTM amazing what is there, behold. WPA2-PSK is automatically set as the default page 47 shows, and do pick it there inside the router this Select one of the following wireless network security options for your wireless network from the Wireless Security drop-down list: WPA: Wi-Fi Protected Access WPA-PSK: Wi-Fi Protected Access with Pre-Shared Key, standard encryption WPA2: Wi-Fi Protected Access version 2 with Pre-Shared Key, standard encryption with the AES encryption type WPA2-PSK: Wi-Fi Protected Access version 2 with Pre-Shared Key (recommended) 8.Choose the wireless network encryption type in the Encryption field: AES- Advanced Encryption Standard: Provides the strongest encryption (recommended) AES+TKIP- Advanced Encryption Standard and Temporal Key Integrity Protocol: Allows both AES and TKIP-capable clients to connect to your wireless network. just so you know, newer routers are like this,.today... and are way more secure too and less bugs. ! old bad, new good. ad_hoc or guess mode are gone forever WPS+ pin gone ,too, (now, new Netgear is preset ssd +pass ,NIB label on router shows this.fact. and WPS button GONE. WEP gone for ever, it is insecure max. wpa (fear growing) but may have it or just alone.aka wpa1. or show up as wpa1/2 then see WPA2/3, like mine, and wpa1 is single choice. what your PC and TV;s need and demand I can not guess. is using a PC learn what WPA it uses.(age of PC is the key) learn what other things in home use or need (IOT) yes some old things are wpa 1 only. no higher. then make your choices for sure all same and wpa2 if can. and then set the router to that. and use a PW that is only alpha- numeric and does not use dictionary words. or all upper or lower, mixed can be hard to learn here is me using lastpass, autogen example: only, use a one case SSID. 62D477H6XY the write it down using PAPER>

One SB5100 modem in whole system has high packet loss. Latencies okay. Have replaced modem -- same problem. Ch 3 TV QAM is >40 dB MER at modem. In -5dBmV, out 47 dBmV. Modem works fine on test benc

Call the ISP (end) 2003 model relic. USA modem> a 38 Mbps in a single 6 MHz channel, mine does 1200 this oldDOCSIS 2.0 has one channel, 6MHz. mine has 32,(v3) and the IPS charges for bandwidth, by adding or subtracting channels. so pay more get more speed. but yours is 1ch. mine is 30 times faster, 32ch, than your old v2. and packet lost is normal, you are confused how cable works. but yes call the ISP and ask them to tune up your modem cable the come out and measure the cable curb signal strengths. and PAD the line down to not over or underdrive the modem also this is done at the modem POINT . F coax cables. PAD is a F-conn. attenuator, in many sizes ,1 is best here , tuned. or pay for DOCSIS 3 upgrade, 19 year old modems need to be retired. for sure. all this is ISP , related, every word. and fact. you pay for speed, so demand what was payed for, also learn the PC can be Ethenet wired to modem direct. for testing. not told what GOAL or DREAM app fails, a GAME? good luck with old DOCSIS 2.

Motorola WPS870G print server

just bought this relic? box? and expect it to work in W10? what? tell all connections and all related equipment (gear) and OS run. we can not ever guess others networks. wired or wifi. not. MOTOROLA WPS870G Wireless Print Server 802.11b / g, RJ45 LPT, USB 2.0 a true Blast form the PAST 2005 for worse, older printers. LEGACY relics, I can do. the manual is here. free 115 pages, the topic first is , what printers work here, not told yours. the box new has CD with XP driver, and are useless now. so what then>? you never said XP or up to W11 use. it really is a print server, that is for sure and wireless so you can print from any wireless PC to the unstated parallel LPT printer of old page 8 quote "Windows IPP Client software is supplied for Windows 98SE and Windows ME computers. IPP support is built-in to Windows 2000 and Windows XP computers." the rear of the PS, has LPT 25 pin (dinosaur) and USB that runs wired printers this way, but I bet newer printers USB fail here. easy as pie (eating cherry pie slang) NO PRINTER TOLD BUT I GUESS USB PRINTER AS LPT ARE ALL DEAD NOW, RIP ,LPT 25PIN PRINTERS. the manual covers both things wifi setup and USB printer and test print pages. my guess is your setting up the PS , wifi pages and it fails? read page 15 and for sure direct printer app that is useless today xp apps are that. the wifi on the SP must be set as a fixed IP in your home router, using mac address of the SP. MAC = IP , RESERVED. FIXED OR TROUBLE MAX. THE IP MUST NOT CHANGE, PER PAGE 15 TOLD "the printer must be on the the allow list ?My printer doesn't show up in the list of available printers during installation. If you are using an USB-enabled print driver to connect your printer to the Wireless Print Server, you might need to download and use an Ethernet-enabled print driver. You will also need to use IP Printing (LPR) if you use an Ethernet print driver. See PAGE 73 WPS870G LPR Printing Setup" step one, after used PS is reset. fully the wifi must be setup wifi. page 49 https://www.manualslib.com/manual/106781/Motorola-Wps870g.html?page=49#manual 17years old XP tell me you do not run XP.

Airpot Extreme blinks orange when

British only say dodgy. so bingo for UK? reckon is only said by us confederates, rebels.lol well the Arris (SB5101U) moldem is first , its LED happy./ SOUNDS LIKE IT IS BAD DO ME, IF MODEM WORKS AND ROUTER FAILS THEN ROUTERS IS BAD. But any router made can be not configured at all. as in hard reset and fails. so reDO alo that. in the Airport router AirPort extreme Apple AirPort Extreme 802.11ac User Manual lets read some pages router wan jack wired to wan jack on modem, check the AP status LED light off means no power. sold amber means AP is process of starting up;. SOLD GREEN LED: is good Flashing Amber (orange/) means. Your AirPort Extreme can't establish a connection to the network or the Internet, or is encountering a problem. Use AirPort Utility to get information about what might cause the status light to flash amber. See "If Your AirPort Extreme Status Light Flashes Amber" on page 18. the error above amber blink means the AP can not connect to the ARRIS MODEM. so reset it first. reset it by only unpluging AC power from wall for 5min and put back and wait 15min or until modem shows fully connected, to ISP./ the router is last not first. ISP not down today. if the modem keeps failing call the ISP.. one can wire connect a PC directly tot the modem and test that way but I will show a page on that now. https://red-dot-geek.com/connect-pc-modem-ethernet-cable/ now you learned how to test the modem first and then router. wired once wired works both modem and router we play WIFI H3LL all day long, ask. can do but endless causes to fail, in truth.

Modem is off line. Comcast can't get it to

only they can fix there silly modem and system ! if dead. "my old" what does that mean>? that is only a CABLE ONLY model. from Comcast (theirs) that means NO ROUTER. < never run lacking one. buy one. SURFboard SB5101 DOCSIS 2.0 Cable Modem no wifi at all, there just one Ethernet port (sublan) best is add router (say netgear) to this this old modem and then let the router do its job and all IOT, all work. IOT is internet of THINGS. (all) test wired first then play with wifi, last, set it up. per the routers manual or ask buy a router first , own one, not old , new , new are safe. routers only not cable/router combo's like Netgear AC750 on up. R6020 like these (not docsis) the costs are based on speed. https://www.walmart.com/search?q=netgear&sort=price_low you must RTM , to set up any router. Read the manual. set SSID use WPA1/2 mode set in a wifi password, ( a good one, that is safe.) check out the new Netgear that have preset SSID. https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/R6020/R6020_UM_EN.pdf I like where Netgear is going with that. pre assigned at the factory, and ready to run, no setup.. for noobs a big deal that. but your are not locked out of settings at all, PAGE 57
