Make sure you are using a known good Apple cable and not a third party cable - some third party cables do not work properly. Also make sure iPad is fully charged before starting restore.

Good Luck.

The following can be done on ipad with iOS 8:
1. Press the home button( the round button on the front side of your ipad), to go to the home screen.
2. Find the Settings icon ( looks like gray clockwork gears) and tap on it to launch the Settings app.
3. After settings app is started try to find on the left side of the screen Passcode ( has a red lock icon near the text) and tap on it
4. In the passcode setting screen you can choose the type of passcode with the Simple passcode setting switched on or off ( simple means a 4 digit number, not simple means any character combination
5. By taping on Turn passcode on you can enter your passcode. Be carefull not to forget your passcode, otherwise you will not be able to use your ipad later.

Sweep to the left until you get to the last screen of icons to see it. Then click on the icon to open the app.

Connect it to a computer with iTunes. Set up your own Apple ID and Password. Then Reset the iPad.

You can also do it from the iPad itself Settings - General and at the very bottom command RESET.

After the reset you will be able to set it up from new.

Please note that the RESET command clears EVERYTHING off the device.

Push Home+On/Off buttons, both and hold for 30 seconds or so, until it reboots

If you haven't already done so, you have to download the Pogo application from the iTunes app store. If your problem is with the app itself, the first step would be to reboot your device. To reboot the iPad, hold down the button on the top of the iPad until you get the option to shut down the device. Once shut down, press the same button to power on the iPad. Test the Pogo app to see if it works now.
