what can my customer do to get his remote to work? red light on but no green light.

The Problem more often than not is with one or two of the electrolytic capacitors on the power board. They can be bought at Radio Shack for about $1.50 or less. You can tell if the Cap is blown by looking at the top.. it should be flat and have a x stamped in it.. if the top is cracked or "domed" the cap is bad. I just fixed one today for an employee. If you're not comfortable doing board level repairs, I suggest finding a friend. The repair took me a total of about 15 min. The Bad Cap was a 470uf 25v, but radio shack had a 35v one.. works just fine.

Check the settings of both the device you are playing back and also the receiver. It could be the wrong type of audio selected, or just not switched on.

2. Using the code list, find the first five digit code that is listed next to the name brand of the TV that is to be programmed
3. On the Comcast remote, press and release the TV key
4. On the Comcast remote, press and hold the SETUP key until the TV mode key blinks twice then release the SETUP key
5. On the Comcast remote, enter the first listed five digit code Note: If this number is entered correctly and is an accepted TV code, the TV mode key will blink twice. If the code is entered incorrectly or is not an accepted TV code, the TV mode key displays one long blink and exits programming mode
6. Aim the remote control at the TV and press the POWER key once
7. The TV should turn OFF - if it did not turn off, repeat steps 1-6 with the next TV code listed, until a working code is found

If you are using cable TV the channels could all be scrambled requiring a cable decoder box.
