Installed 3 256k memory ... now computer running
Crucial.com has a good database of memory requirements for motherboards -- it shows that your motherboard can only support memory sticks of 128MB or less each. Installing three 256MB sticks may be causing compatibility problems and slowing your system down.
How much memory did you have before the upgrade? If you can get 128MB sticks, you may want to give those a try (PC-133 speed per Crucial's database) and see if they work better.
Hope that helps -- if not, let me know!
The battery seems to be dead what is the part number
These batteries are generally generic in nature, meaning that you can pick them up at radio shack. There should be a part number printed on the positive side of the battery. Usually these atx boards use part number 2032.
HI!!! I need to know how to conect the front
Hi there.
Get a strong flashlight and a magnifying glass (if you have one). On the motherboard look for the front panel, it should be
marked PWR and coloured green, also the plug that connects to it should
be marked PWR_SW. On some boards there are no colours but the markings are the same, so a good close look.
Have a look at these pictures for an idea >>>>>>
Please post back with the results and any more advice if needed.
Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!
Motherboard upgrade??
Dear kaname,
Your computer can support Windows XP, which has better hardware support and compatibility with the 2003 Office suit. XP also updates your hardware automatically once you are on the internet. You might want to try this.
Keep in mind that the older the Operating System, the harder it is for Office suites to compat. Newer Operating systems have better support for your computing. If you don't have HDD problems, the BIOS should not prevent you from loading SP2 for Win2000.
Conclusion:
1. The SP2 Source Disk may have a problem
2. The Win 2000 you have already loaded may be missing components, preventing the SP2 to load.
2. Notton Antivirus versions and the 2003 office both reject Win 2000. They just don't like it; it's getting too old.
Get with it, Kaname!!!!
Bios update for atc 5220
Once in the BIOS you could try restoring it to the default settings (an option that you should find along with the other options including exit options). I personally feel that re flashing your BIOS should be an option of Last Resort. I am no authority on Windows 2000 but if I'm off, I'm sure someone who is will provide a better suggestion.
Good Luck.
PS: What service pack is Windows 2000 Pro up to now anyway?
Upgrade
You can replace it with an socket370->slot1 adapter cause there is no processor for slot1 formfactor

My Employer Says They Are Going To Cut My Wages. Can They?
If you are in the middle of a contract, then cutting your wages is almost certainly a violation of your employment law rights. While I am by no means an expert on this matter, I did have a similar issue years ago - mid-contract wage cuts - and I hired an
employment attorney to fight the case on my behalf. It turned out that my employer was basically looking to scare people into taking the wage cut.
They got into some pretty serious legal trouble for their transgression, and nothing happened to me in terms of wage cuts after that. If you are between contracts, your employer can re-negotiate your salary, but as far as I am aware, if you are in an agreed-upon contract, they cannot just decide to reduce your salary. If you want to settle matters, contest this action with support from a legal professional.
