battery light is on, battery is new and alternator has been replaced on my 2003 ford escape There should be a fusible link for the alternator, I think it is 175 amps. Check that, it could be blown.

fusible link. take off the two nuts with a 1/2 inch wrench, pull the cables off and remove the link. It should be marked as a 175 amp fuse. Run to the auto parts store to buy a replacement. reinstall.
