My 2002 Sony 57" died last month. The cost to fix the B board and install three new tubes will be $815.00. I decided to buy new.
I would prefer a 70"+ plasma, but with the $40k price tag. NO thanks. Anywayz.
My living area is rather large. I sit 14 feet back from the TV, so a larger screen size will suit my needs much better than the average 42-50" displays.
I have been looking at the mitsubishi 73" and 82" series C9 (73" only), 737 and 837 series. I have read several complaints on older mits models, but have come across few or none concerning the new model series listed above. I understand the lamp will need to be replaced and I guess I would deal with that problem once a year or so, if it were.
I would like some advice and thoughts regarding these models. I wonder if it would be a decent investment or would I just be entering into trouble land. If the problems are to problematic I guess I would just settle with a 65" but get the panasonic plasma, which I don't think I would have any issues with.
However, due to the living room size, I would like to settle for the larger display IF the newer series mits are quality items.
Thank you for your response.
