Question about Computers & Internet
Have you checked the Recycle Bin?
Usually, after the deletion process, the deleted files would be removed to a folder called "Recycle Bin" so that one can still restore them there.
But, if you unfortunately cannot find your deleted photos there, you may try to restore them back off from this desktop for free with the help of a PC data recovery freeware that has ever successfully restored all the wanted data of my friend back from his mistakenly formatted hard drive.
This freeware is really worth shot!
If you are interested, you can read more detailed information of it here:
Note: Before the data recovery process, you'd better not save anything else on this PC in case that any new file will rewrite your original files.
After the data recovery process, you also do not save the restored data on the same computer drive in case of data recovery failure.

I recommend you to try finding the delated data using free Data Recovery Applications like PC Inspector File Recovery.
Make sure that you donot save any data in the partition from which the data is deleated from.
Basically even if the data is deleted, it will be physically available in the same place untill it is over written by saving any other data.
If you are sure that your friend had not saved any data in the drive from where the Office documents were deleated, you will be able to recover data using the appliction I had mentioned above.
The application will scan each and every cluster in the Hard Drive for deleted data and will show the status of the data like Healthy indicates that the data can be retrived easily.
Try running the application from any external storage device like Thumb/Pen Drive or External hard Drive.
Hope this helps..
