Question about Dymo LabelWriter 400 Thermal Printer

CONTINOUS FEED My Dymo Lable Writer 400 had a jam last week. Since then, it prints one label and feeds 3-5 labels automatically. I have restarted and reset. changed the rolls and cleaned it of any dust or leftover adhesive. how can I solve this?

    I kind of have the same problem. We just bought the Dymo Label 400 and after installation we defined our own label and tried to print it. It prints one label, then it gives an error saying that labels are not inserted in the machine and then feeds an empty label. Please, how can we get rid of this? We tried restarting software, re-installing software, new roll of labels. Thanks!

    This happened after my label writer jammed, and the label sticked to and tightly rolled up against the roller. I had to literally try to tear it off piece by piece.

Use a DYMO Label/Writer Cleaning Card #60622. One should have come with your printer. Just remove the labels, run this cleaning pad through a few times, insert the labels, and print.

My dymo 450 turbo prints only 1 label even i order to print 10 labels. I use mac(10.11.5) and dymo label(8.5.3). updated last version.


Double check that your using correct printer driver.
Completely remove restart computer with printer discontente,then reinstall the printer.

At the end of a set of labels, my 400 jammed so I had to take off the front section to clear the jam. When I loaded new Dymo labels, it now doesn't print. Not sure if when I took off the front...

Reset the printer by doing the following:While the printer is on, unplug the printer power cord.Restart the computer.Plug back the printer. Make sure all connections are properly connected.Unload an reload the Dymo labels.Then restart the computer again.Try to print.

It begins to print then stops half way


Having the same problem here... very random... send a print job of labels and it will print the whole lot, or freeze at random points but always halfway through a label... no error message... unplug usb and replug doesnt do anything, but unplug and replug power and off it goes printing more lables but may even freeze again after only a few more have come out... also, every day the first print job of the day prints half the label and pauses for about 10 seconds then keeps going...

My Dymo Labelwriter 450 turbo feeds out 4 labels each time I print one. The print setting is on one label. The first one prints and the next three are blank. If I try to use the reverse button the printer...


Multiple label feeding usually occurs because the sides of the spool holding the roll are not squeezed tightly together. Make sure there's no gap between the labels and the sides of the spool. If this doesn't help. take out the labels and blow a blast of air into the feed slot. There is a sensor inside the slot on the left that detects the hole in the labels, and maybe it is blocked.

Dymo prints blotchy labels and feeds out many labels after print


Sounds like you have a couple of issues going on...your labels are incompatible or you have an incorrect template selected in the Dymo Software.

Check that the label model matches the template and you are using quality Dymo Labels. Such as the Dymo name brand or the LabelValue brand Dymo labels.

Dymo label writer 400 turbo will not print


Uninstall the software and disconnect the printer from your PC. Then reinstall version 8 of the Dymo Software (without the printer connected) and connect the printer when prompted by the software.

Make sure you are using version 8 of the dymo label software - it is compatible with Windows 7.

There are a few common reasons this is problem can exist.

1.) the incorrect template is used when creating the label

2.) the labels are installed incorrectly - the labels must be loaded and pushed against the left side of the printer and lid closed when printing to ensure the labels don't "wander" out of the sensor's view.

3.) the label sensor is covered by some debris - sometimes a label jam can cause a piece of label to become stuck on the underside of the sensor thus blocking its view. Use quality Dymo labels.

4.) The labels are defective - if you have another roll of the same size, try it to see if it has the samme issue.

There are a few common reasons this is problem can exist.

5.) The labels are defective - if you have another roll of the same size, try it to see if it has the same issue. If not, make sure you purchase quality labels like Dymo name brand or Labelvalue brand Dymo labels.
6.) The printer is defective. Labelwriter 400s have a 2 year warranty, so you can contact Dymo customer support to determine if the printer is defective and return to the retailer you purchased it from.

Dymo 400 was working fine, then I had to unjam


You probably didn't damage it, it sounds like you may have knocked loose the thermal printing portion (which is the most important part). There is no easy way for you to repair this but Dymo will usually do it for free under warranty. Their phone number is:

DYMO Label/Writer is not printing after replaceing labels
