My iphone 3gs won't make phone calls, it keeps saying no service, then searching, then says it has some service but whenever i try to make a call it doesn't go through

I have had this problem too- have you guys tried to charge it ? Also maybe take the battery out and put it back in and check- I've had to do that a few times to get my phone to work
