When I try to make copies using the ADF the screen tells me to remove documents and place on glass. Can you explain why. I have sveral pages

Automatic document feeder requires you to insert files into holder and let the machine scan through the pile providing you have not over ridden settings to manual.it sounds as if you have switched off adf to manual which would require you to place each document onto glass one at a time.see if you can switch it back to auto in the screen menu.

Samsung CLX-6220-FX vertical lines when scanning and copying

The reason for such lines if they appear only on scans/copies from the automatic document feeder (adf), but not on regular scans and printouts is that there is dirt on the small glass stripe next to the scanner area that is used for scanning from the adf. Just clean that glass stripe and the lines should go away.

How to set original to adf

Check the document feeder is it aligned properly. There is a small magnet and sensor magnet on the Document feeder right front sensor under the plastic that side ensure they are aligned. Does happen when you make copies?

Check document error, no paper jam

It may be a bad hinge on the document feeder. I have seen several times where the left hinge ( when looking at machine from front) does not close all the way. Close the adf and look at the gap between the copier and the adf. The gap should be the same from the front to the back. If the gap is bigger at the rear ( when looking at the left side of the machine) then you need to replace the left hinge. You can also try pushing down on the document feeders' left side as it feeds the paper. if it works while pushing down, then it is the hinge.

Document feeder reporting paper jam when there is nojam

The ADF need to be serviced the sensors are detecting the jam which you can not see.
1. maybe there is a very tine piece of paper inside therefore, service it.
2. there is a cover containing some switches which complete the circuit for the the cover may be it is not fully closed. (close it)
3. position the sensors nicely and properly.
4. replace the PCB for the ADF
5. Disconnect the ADF from the machine main PCB.(repair it), the machine can work without it being connected.

CANON PC-1080F feeder error message

Well, open the adf and see if there's anything jammed in there. While you are at it, clean all the white out off the rollers and the scan glass. Then make sure the ADF cover is snapped shut properly
