Please list model number. Look for it on sticker behind lower drawer / broiler door.

Have not heard back on the model number, so I'm guessing you have resolved your range problem. (replaced oven igniter?) Would have looked up part number for you with full model info. Not hard to replace. Hope you got it going. If not, shoot me a follow up question.

Hi there, I think for your oven not working you could have the clock set to automatic, Make sure it is on manual and you be good to go. :)

How do you light the pilot light of a GE Spectra Stove XL 44? Top burners and broil work fine.

There is no pilot on most modern appliances that use a gas source for ignition. The burner manifolds in the oven each use a glow bar or electrode type igniter with a gas safety valve to ignite. Both oven manifolds are controlled by the Electronic Oven Control (EOC) board, which is your clock/timer on the control panel. If the surface igniters work and the broiler still works, the problem is not a gas related issue or a control board issue. More than likely, you have a weak or failed oven igniter. Igniters grow weak with age and occasionally need to be replaced. Just because an igniter glows, does not mean it is good. If you are experiencing longer ignition times, or no ignition, this is most likely the case. The following link explains a little theory about these igniters and how to replace one:

Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

Prices vary between these sites, so shop and compare. The first three sites listed also offer helpful exploded view diagrams to help you locate and properly identify the parts you need. The part number for the model you have listed is WB2X9154.

If you have any questions please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Getting to the Pilot

Your model JGBP28DED2WH uses spark ignition on the stove top burners, and a glow bar ignitor, part number WB2X9154 for the oven and broiler. To get to the bake ignitor if oven will not light: Take the racks out of the oven. Remove oven floor by removing two screws at back of oven floor and lifting floor. Remove the square metal flame spreader to get to the burner / ignitor assembly. (note: The ignitor may still glow when you try it, but usually is still the problem)
