How do I download the file for the sansa e250 media converter, I cant watch music video's on the sansa

Hello,

Sansa Media Converter should be used to convert videos and pictures in the appropriate file extension and size: notice, files should have certain formats before converting them.
Overview for supported files using Sansa Media Converter:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/32/related/1
Direct link to the SMC download:

Allow downloads when blocked to get the download started.

There's a user guide, readable with adobe reader, for e200v2 series on next site:

SanDisk 2GB Sansa e250 doesn't turn on

Ok. I'm Mexican and my English is not so well but I have an solution that I'll like to share.

You have to download this file http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1449
and unzip in the Desk of windows . It's name is "pp5022.mi4"

Open the Notepad program and create a file whit name "sansa.fmt". IMPORTANT Dont save it like "sansa.txt" or "sansa.fmt.txt"
(We don't have to put anything in the notepad file, live it blank) and saved in the windows Desk same as "pp5022.mi4" file.
If you don't know where is notepad program go to "star" then "programs" then "accessories" and you'll find it there.

NOW...
First step be sure that your sansa is off
then put the lock switch in the position orange (Sansa Locked)
Then press the Microphone bottom and keep holding, at the same press the menu bottom and keep holding too at the same time.
Wait until you are in the Recovery Mode.
Then conect your sansa to the computer.
And it's gonna appear a new window whit a "version.txt" file.
Take the 2 files that you created in the Desk and drag and drop to the sansa. Then unplug your sansa to the pc.
Now turn on the sansa but Unlocked before.
And I hope that your problem have been gone.
Adios

Plz help =(::::::::::

Hi Blkmage. It seems that your E250 is experiencing some system errors due after the format due to some bad tracks on the player. Try this solution, but this solution is only meant for the "Standard" E200 players (there are 2 types of E200 players -- the Standard E200 and the "Rhapsody" players, indicated with an "r" after the E200 such as "E250r". I'm hoping you have the standard E250. Switch your Sansa E250 to its Recovery Mode: 1. Make sure the player is powered off 2. Enable the "Hold" switch (located on the top of the player). You would know it's enabled when you see the "orange-colored" surface 3. Press the "Record" button. Make sure you keep it pressed while pressing on the "Menu" button. 4. keep your fingers pressed on these 2 buttons until the E250 LCD screen displays "Welcome to Recovery Mode" 5. Connect your E250 to your computer. (Just a reminder: The minimum Operating System requirements for a Sansa E200 player is Windows XP and above) 6. Double-click on "My Computer" and you would see your Sansa E250 appear as a "16 MB" drive. Note: If you do not see that "16 MB" drive/partition, please repeat steps 1-6. Next, Apply the firmware for the E250 (your player should be connected to your PC at this time): Step 1: Use this link to download the firmware for your Sansa E250 (for better results, please save this file on your "Desktop": http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/Downl... Step 2: Double left-click on the downloaded file, and follow the on-screen prompts. The file will automatically re-flash your player and format it as well, thereby clearing all possible file/system corruptions that may have occurred which caused the "Load Main Image Failed" notification in the first place. Step 3: When the process is complete, unplug your E250 from your computer, and please make sure you disable the "Hold" switch Step 4: Power up your E250 and 90-99% of the time, it would boot up successfully. Hoping it works out for your player. Syd :)

Hello. Seems like your player is encountering either a file or system error, causing it to freeze. One solution would be to see if your player would be detected by your PC, then attempt to format it. Another solution would be to re-apply the firmware. Here are the steps: Switch your Sansa E250 to its Recovery Mode: 1. Step 3: When the process is complete, unplug your E250 from your computer, and please make sure you disable the "Hold" switch Step 4: Power up your E250 and 90-99% of the time, it would boot up successfully.

Not leaving anytime soon...

Although you have excellent virus protection it is a virus. But there is a solution, if you go to mcafee.com you can download a program "stinger" it's free so don't worry. Run the program with your Sansa in MSC USB mode otherwise Stinger will not recognize the Sansa in a directory. Now, When You add Directories do not take off your C drive because your music files might have the virus this program removes them without removing your music files. PS: I also Defraged and formatted my Sansa, not sure if its neccessary.
