I was watching a movie on my iPod 30 GB, and the battery went really low. When I connected it to the car charger, the screen went blank and now it won't charge, reset, or turn on. When I try to charge it the case becomes very hot.

contact apple and see what they say. if they cant fix it or something, then look for instructions on how to change the battery. if you dont wanna do that, then get a new one, but recycle that one first so you can get some money to pay for the second one
you may need to repaire it.

could be bad charger or time to replace the battery. lots of places sell new ipod batteries.
does it work if you leave it plugged into your computer for a few hours? if it does not then its a bad abttery.
Hi, I would suspect either a bad screen, or a bad battery. Can you hear the hard drive turning? Put it next to your ear and see if you hear a whirling sound. If you can hear that, then your screen is gone and needs to be replaced.
Try plugging it into a wall charger. If it comes on then it is the battery. The computer often does not have enough power to make it light up if the battery is really bad. Hope that helps.
Your computer sees your iPod as another disc drive. When you sync check you have not got "enable for disc use" checked on the summary page. If it wont sync movies right click on it and select "convert selection for iPod", make sure you have selected the movie on the movie tab (or select "All Movies")
try a re-set. Toggle the hold switch on and then off. Then hold down the center button and the menu button at the same time. Keep holding them until the screen flashes, then release.
If this doesn't work, try an alternative power source. A wall charger, or a speaker dock maybe. Sometimes a USB cable just can't transfer enough power to get an iPod to re-boot after the battery is completely drained.
