How to reset my sony mhc-gs100??? it keep saying power protect...

Your stereo went into protect mode to prevent complete failure of the amplifier inside that radio. Most of the time this happens from playing the stereo real loud for a real long time and it overheats. Most of the time disconnecting the receiver/stereo and letting it cool all the way down or at least 5 minutes and then reconnecting it to the power source will reset the protection mode. You want to make sure you are keeping the radio cool. Don't stack anything on top of it and try keeping a small fan blowing on it to expedite the heat out from the unit. Also turning it down every now and then to let everything cool down a bit will help prevent it from going into protection mode as well.

Antenna?

the easiest way to replace it is...

find or buy a set of old tv bunny ears. as the stereo has a coax connection for the fm antenna and so does the bunny ears, if you plug them in they will work! most likely better than the original antenna!

Sound went out, can't get it back on

This model stereo has problems,to fix it you must unplug it,remove the side panels and you will see a ribbon connector coming from the front panel and going to the side panel circuit board. You must gently unplug this from the side circuit board, use canned air to dust it and the plug itself and replace. You are now good to go!! Hope this works for you,cuz it did for me.

Well Jamez sounds like you have eather blown the soeakers or the output IC's inside the unit. If you have a meter you can simply disconnect the speakers and test the resistance of the speakers with an ohm meter. If you dont have an ohm meter then you can connect them up to another stereo or have them and the unit tested at a repair center. Sorry not really any serviceable parts in these systems. Good Luck
