Question about Canon Cameras
In order for Windows XP or Windows Vista to communicate directly with a digital camera, the camera must be PTP (picture transfer protocol) capable. This protocol was developed after the PowerShot S230 came out six years ago. Your best bet would be to get a CF card reader (only about $15 - $20) with a USB connector and use it to read the photos from the CF card.
