Question about Nokia N95 Cellular Phone

Nokia n95 button not working

My Nokia n95 number #1 key has stopped working randomly. Any suggestions? I did not get the phone wet or drop it. It just stopped. It is 5 months old.

    MINE GOT WET A LITTLE AND NOW THE UP,LEFT,1,8,c BUTTON IS NOT WORKING. DONT REALLY KNOW HOW TO FIX IT BUT IM WAITING FOR THE SUN TO COME OUT SO I CAN LEAVE IT IN THE SUN AND LET THE INSIDES DRY UP.

You need to get the button replaced.If you can open the phone then it can be done easily.But i advice you to get it done from a technician

How to Format Nokia N72, N73, N81, N95, NSeries Mobile Phones. Method 1: Three Finger Reset for Nokia Phone1. Switch off your Nokia phone.
2. Hold down the following three keys, Green (call answer button) * Key, and Number ‘3? key.
3. While holding these buttons, press the power button and switch on the phone.
4. Wait for message ‘Formatting’ to appear on the screen and release all keys once you see that message.

If you have forgot your Nokia N95 8GB's security code then i will recommend you to do following:
  • Enter 00000 or 12345 as pass code first.
  • If above codes wont work then you will have to RESET your phone.Resetting your phone will end up in loss of all DATA that you have on your cell.Every thing will be restored to factory configurations no Security code will be their.

N95 got wet with sea water.No 9 do the same as " play " button


depending on how long ago it got wet.... if it was recently, take it apart and put it in a bag of uncooked rice, the phone and battery apart. if you keep it there about three days, it should work fine.

Try the following manual method to hard reset/format Nokia N95:

1) Turn off the mobile device.
2) Turn on the phone and quickly Press and Hold the following three buttons: the green Call Answer button, the “*” button, and the number “3′ button. keep holding the keys untill the mobile phone restarts and prompts you to enter details time and country.

Warning: Make sure the battery is at least 25% capacity so the phone will not power down during hard reset. ( Hard reset normally takes about 2 minutes only).

Warning: Hard reset will format everythings in your phone ( Your contact, calender, photos, installed Apps, Etc.) and the phone will be returned to its original state as if it was purchaced new.

( Mini memory card MMC) will not be effected :)

if your button stopped working it can be causing an extra drain on your battery via a short of some kind. Because of the sensitivity of cell phones you will probably have to replace the phone. Most likely causes for this problem are:

  • wear and tear
  • dropping the phone
  • poor battery maintenance
  • getting the phone wet or using the phone in the bathroom (seriously).

Having the same problem, Phone was 2 weeks old then this.
Sent my phone to the nokia repair center and have been waiting for 4 months now... still no phone

Anyone found out what the problem is?

Press the button on top of the phone for 2 seconds.
If that doesn't work, get your cheque book out and buy him a new phone.
