Question about Insignia D400a PC Desktop

Random sounds I have random sound, speech and songs coming out of my speakers. Thinking it was a virus I ran both norton and mcafee and they both could not determine anything. Next I called norton customer support and and couldnt determine anything but said to contact the manufacture? I ended up deleting my audio software thinking it had to do with them because the windows would pop up once in a while but that did nothing. Any ideas?

I had the same thing. It was a virus called windows xp antivirus. Install malware bytes if that is it. Should delete the virus. Otherwise it screws your whole system. Dont buy the windows xp antivirus software. It doesnt exist!

Ok, the first thing is to remove either Norton or Mcafee as this alone may be the cause, you cannot have two anti virus programme they conflict and cause allsorts of problems.

My pavilion dv7 17" won't allow me to install mcafee anti virus

Before you can do anything, uninstall norton antivirus, go to control panel and click on it, a list of items will come up, when norton shows select remove and wait for the program to uninstall, and restart the computer, go back in and remove norton live update and any other program pertaining to norton. If you have windows 7 go to my computer and "click" on top select uninstall, and follow the outline above. Now you should be able to install the program.

Virus Troubles

1, get Real Anti Virus Protection. Norton or McAfee. 2 all is not lost. McAfee offer several solution in what they call Stinger. Norton will scan the computer before it tries to install and will remove your problem files as will McAfee. This is basically a bogus add someone clicked on that allowed it to install and until you get it gone it's going to keep popping those false adds up trying to get you back to the hack site that gave them to you to begin with. Download Stinger from McAfee for free and run it from a floppy or USB drive or Buy Norton and do the install. In fact, you could get the free trial and install that of either of these and they will clean your problem.

My Norton Anti-Virus expired yesterday and i want it back

You will either have to purchase another subscription from Norton or use another anti-virus. I recommend using AVG, it is free for home users and ranks at the top with Symantec and McAfee.

Hi, i've recently bought an acer aspire one running windows 7. it came with a trial version of McAfee. I uninstalled this and put on Norton 360 which i bought at the same time. Now the pc won't boot up so...

McAfee?? this product you need to check how to totally remove it from your netbook because it will block most of the other anti virus. Consider as business strategy, so that end user just use this anti virus, rather than other.

We have recently upgraded our Norton 360 - it

I wouldn't recommend installing McAfee as this can also slow down machines. Norton is notorious for this. Download AVG free Anti-Virus or Avast Anti-Virus & a firewall such as Zonealarm. Anti-spyware software is also a good idea. Spybot Search & Destroy & Adaware are good. If the computer is in a corporate environment you must purchase the software as the free licence only covers home use. Uninstall Norton when you have downloaded the programs & before you attempt to install the new programs.
