Hi, mine is a Matsui MS160SL, and is not heating up the water. IIs this what yours is doing? I think that may be why its not completing the cycle. I have today renewed the heat element, but still no joy.

I have a Matsui dishwasher and I have the same problem in that the water isn't heating up and the dial doesn't seem to be completing the cycle.

I've got the same problem and no solution yet. I've replaced the heating element - no good. Then the thermostats - no good. Think I might scrap it and get a new one. (It's only 18 months old.....) My advice is - beware before starting to replace parts on these machines, if you're not careful you'll end up replacing the whole machine and it'll cost more than a new one. RB

SOURCE: DISHWASHER

this is a sign of a defective timer mechanism. replacing the timer will fix this issue. Replace the timer/control model asap.

SOURCE: my matsui mf2w/a dishwasher sticks

check the safety thermostat which is located at the bottom of the dishwasher. you have to remove the bottom plate, and then you will find easily the thermostat-KSD201/PF 90. you have to reset this probably.there is a red wax dot in the middle this thermostat, so remove it and use a needle to press a very small button inside. the heating element is working well probably.you can measure resistance on it to be sure.

SOURCE: I set rotary dial for Normal Wash which it does

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

I will start by saying your post indicates it is a Kenmore portable dishwasher, however based on the info you posted and my experience, I don't think there really is a problem...if I understand your post.

Just to clarify, "rotary dial keeps turning automatically thru t Water Miser, Rinse Hold, Drying, Plate Warmer until reaches Off " unless what you are saying is the unit doesn't turn off even when reaching "off'.

Let me know if that is indeed the case, otherwise it is working as it should. Whether you select Pots & Pans, Heavy Wash, or Normal Wash or even Water Miser it should run until it reaches "off" on your model of dishwasher.

Thank you for choosing FixYa.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Turn on dishwasher you can hear it fill then it turns off

Some dishwashers have a delay start, (frigidaire has this). check the dial settings to
see if your unit has to have the dial rotated past the "delay start hours" setting. Hope this helps.

The dishes wont come clean on top rack? the bottom rack is clean..we tried cleaning filter and making sure the wash arm wasnt hitting anything..we tried different wash settings..please help ...

Check that the top rotating arm jets are not block. These often get blocked by pieces of food or other solid particles, this is the normal problem.

AFTER SETING THE WASHING MODE AND LOCKING LEVER I CANNOT ROTATE THE ON OFF DIAL.

Is it an old kitchen-aid? They were actually made by Hobart and you had to select a cycle and then close the door. It was normal only for that model.

Cheers!

No water goes into dishwasher. Dishwasher has only been used 2times. Came new with house 3.6 years ago. Pulled front panel off...everything appears to be connected motor fan runs.

I've experienced the same thing. Try very slowly rotating timer dial, click by click, until the water starts. Sometimes 3 or 4 clicks will start water. (You're advancing the clock.) Usually water starts in before the dial points to, "Short Wash." If this doesn't work, advance the dial to, "Off," unlock and open the door, reset, close, the soap dispenser, close and lock the door, and slowly advance the dial until the unit starts. I think this problem is a clock to pump issue and what I've described does a reset of the system. This happens to me once or twice per month. Poor engineering but still better than buying a new machine...at least 'till now.

Matsui mf160 starts its wash cycle and timer stops

on most machines, the timer will not run if the water is not up to temp. if the inside is plenty hot mid-cycle, then your heating element is probably good. it is the thermometer that needs located and checked. if the inside is not steamy, then your heating element is the most likely culprit.
don't hate your dishwasher. it just wants to make sure that you get a full wash cycle at a hot enough temp. to get the dishes clean. good luck

Not draining and washer arm not spinning

Have you cleaned the drain filter? The symptoms you describe indicate that the filter are totally clogged.

Cleaning filters should be done every other week to maintain good function in dishwashers, it is not uncommon people forget that.

You access the filter by removing the perforated stainless steel plate at the floor of the washer tub, usually there is a round plastic knob in the middle that you turn counter-clockwise then lift it up. Underneath this plate you will find the main filter, take it out and clean with a soft brush under running water.

Good luck!

Hotpoint fdw20p dishwasher

You need the control panel to reset before anything else can happen. To do this TURN OFF THE PLUG SOCKET FIRST AND UNPLUG. Then you need to drain ALL the water from the machine. Turn off the water supply feed and place the wastage pipe as low to the floor as poss ( 1-2" off floor). Water will gush out so use a large shallow tray and keep emptying the tray. Tilt the dishwasher over slightly to make sure all the water is out.
This will allow the control panel to reset itself which wouldn't normally happen if the base of the dishwasher was holding even a small amount of water.
Re connect the water, plug back in , select the RESET setting on the dial and close the door and switch on.
Leave for about 20 seconds and then turn off.
Rotate the selector switch to "A" Intensive wash and switch
I found this on another site and it really did work for me
