Re: MVC-FD71 Question

I have heard that there is actually a visible difference between pictures taken in regular mode and pictures taken in Neg Art mode and then reversed in software. Most editing software will have a negative effect that will reverse the picture.

Re: MVC-FD71 Question

I do not know of the picture perfect mode. In neg art mode the image will appear as a negative on the screen. If you open it to an image editing application with an invert image command in it, you will actually see what you would have seen had it been shot in normal mode. You can print it either way. If it looks like a neg on your screen then it will look like that on your print.

I have a Nikon Coolpix s560. I want to shut off the date/time stamp imprint that it makes. I take pictures of my art with it and cannot have time stamps in the picture.

Welcome to FixYa,

You can disabled the Date Imprint. In this option you can print your pictures without the date and time printed on it.

All you have to do is set the Date Imprint on its default setting or setting it on OFF
Just go to Set up Menu and look for the Date Imprint and set it to OFF.

There are other option where the Date Imprint will be disabled.

- When the Continous Mode is set to Continous or BBS
- When the Scene mode is set to Sports, Museum, or Panorama assist.
- When movies are being recorded.

Hope this information will help you and can answered your question.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Focus problem?

Hi

Yes, there is a 'macro mode' setting which is what you need to use to take closeup photos.

Put the mode dial on Auto in camera mode, and then press the 'macro' button, its the one with the little flower icon. The macro icon appears on your screen and you can now take closeup photos.

This is a CCD sensor problem and should be replaced. Try to have it done free of charge by Sony even though your camera is an old model because CCD sensor should last 10 years +.

FD-71 and Printing

I have heard that 300 image dots per inch guarantees photo quality but in reality most people are happy with half that. So, a 150 image dots per printed inch would give you a print size of 4"x3".

It's in the manual for sure. There are a couple of preset WB settings in the camera. You can access these by pressing the WB button on the lens, it will change the WB setting from one to another for every press. You can also do custom WB with one push botton.
