I am at a lost...I know I am a user of old tech in using the Palm III, but please...I need some help...is there any one out there?
My handheld ran out of battery completely for a period of some days, I installed new batteries, and then tried to Hot Sync without success even after both a soft and hard reset....it gets through a few synchronizations or so it says and then it just stalls for long periods of time (+1hr in some tests) over the synchronizing date book.
The desktop remains intact. Any sense what the issue might be???? I would be GRATEFUL!!!!

Unless you have a copy of the data for your Palm backed up on Mac or an external hard drive or a copy of the data backed up on your Palm I think you can consider it gone. Mac's do that even with ipods or iphones if you're not careful. Having a true backup/copy of the data somewhere separate from the regular sync setup helps avoid this. Syncing is not the same as a backup regarding data such as this.
Dear Toda ;]
Get an anti virus for palm os and run it, then reload the palm software.
another thing to try that worked on a different device is to rename the Back-up folder to Old-Back or some other name. Do a hotsync. This usually works.
Then open your old-back folder and install the programs and data to the handheld. Then do a final hot sync.
Hope this helps.
I manage to sync with both home and work, I upgraded to a Treo 650, and sync'd at home, then deleted my work user, and sync'd at work... and it's worked fine.
I'm able to add tasks, events, apps etc either at home or work, and they successfully sync with the other machine.
The only issue I've had is once or twice, my photos have doubled up, but that hasn't happened often.
