This could be a sensor issue , that is what i would be changing in the first instance. The sensor connects into the same connector the vent door connects into.

GE refrigerator constant irregular beeping

It looked like your model does NOT have an external ice/water control panel which has caused beeping problems on some models.
For your model I would try the following....
Door Alarm
The main cause of a beeping GE unit is an open refrigerator door. Some models are equipped with an internal door alarm, which trips when the door remains open for 3 minutes or longer.
One way to check this .... put your smartphone in the refrigerator on video mode and close the door. The light should go off with the door shut. If the video shows that the light stayed on when the door was closed ... then it reinforces that something is wrong with the switch/alarm. Repeat video for the freezer.
Door Seal
If beeping persists after the freezer or refrigerator door is closed, the door seals may be blocked or so dirty that the internal door alarm is tripped. The seals can be cleaned with a soft cloth and warm, soapy water. Also, an item inside the refrigerator may be preventing the door from fully closing.
Cooling System
Reactivating the refrigerator's cooling system includes a beeping noise. When the refrigerator is off, the "Off/Off" light appears on the door display. When the "Adjust Freezer" and "Energy Saver" buttons are held down for approximately 3 seconds at the same time the beep sounds and the "Off/Off" indicator disappears. Hold the "Ice Off" and "Freezer" buttons to activate the cooling system inside of the fresh food compartment. A beep signals the system is activated. The beeping should stop after the cooling system turns on. If it fails to stop, try unplugging the power cord to reset the connection.
Power
The GE's internal door alarm can get stuck. Try unplugging the refrigerator for about 10 seconds and then plug it back in. If the beeping continues, the internal door alarm might be broken or defective. Contact the manufacturer or a technician for further assistance. One way to check this .... put your smartphone in the refrigerator on video and close the door. The light should go off with the door shut. If the video shows that the light stayed on when the door was closed ... then it reinforces that something is wrong with the switch/alarm.

Good luck on your troubleshooting!

Have a GE Refrigerator Model GTS22JBP or GTL22JBP freezer works but frig wont stay cold

check the cold control thermostat with a meter for both OHMS and volts ( VOLTS is a live test with fridge plugged in so be careful) It must show 110 volts. An open or thermostat that reads infinity will not allow the proper cooling and defrosting cycles to operate and may in fact stop anything from happening as if there is no power to the unit? CHECK

THERMISTORS ALSO

ALSO CHECK THE AIR FLOW VENT SYSTEM At times it can get stuck to far closed or open. Some units feature a digital electric adjusting vent system while others are manually set. Check for any ice build up or other obstruction in the vent damper, see if u can manually open or close it. Some times when u have the settings set to the highest it closes off one area while allowing to much cold air flow to the other area!

FAN check to see if it is operating or restricted A fan that is not blowing or restricted will not circulate the cold air properly.

Often, the first thing that folks do when their refrigerator starts to feel warm is turn both controls on the coldest settings. This is exactly the WRONG thing to do.Turning the cold control to the coldest settingwillkeep the compressor running longer and make lots of cold air.

But turning the air door to the coldest settingclosesthe airway to the food section. Lots of cold air is made, but most of it stays in the freezer section, and the food section actually getswarmer.

Condenser
Self-defrosting refrigerators all have a set of coils and a cooling fan, usually under the refrigerator, that need to be cleaned regularly. If these coils get coated with dust, dirt or lint, the refrigerator may not cool properly. The coils may appear to be a thin, black, wide radiator-like device behind the lower kick-panel. To clean them, disconnect the refrigerator from the power source, use a refrigerator condenser brush and your vacuum cleaner to clean the coils of any lint, pet hair, etc. You may not be able to get to all of the condenser from the front, it may be necessary to clean the remainder of the condenser from the rear of the refrigerator.

Refrigerator not cooling

if your talking about the damper vent door motor,it is behind the vent grille where the damper vent is and is controlled by the refrigerator temp adjustment control, sometimes these doors freeze open or shut from condensation,if this is the case take a hand held hair dryer and thaw and dry out door and hinges and then try adjusting temp asnd see if the door opens and closes now

GE GSS22 refrig wont get cold, freezer does.

Hi, it's possible you have a defrost problem, to know if you have a defrost problem, you should unplug/disconnect refrigerator, remove your produce, leave doors open, for faster defrost, clean and leave unplug/disconnected for about hour, be cautious you will get excessive water from defrosting. let freezer defrost completely, then plug/connect refrigerator, let it work/run for an hour, if it's o/k, put back your produce, if it work good/ o/k for 3 to 4 days and start doing the same thing, you got a defrost problem, defrost problems are caused when excessive ice build up on your evaporator, two things could cause a defrost problem. (1) excessive moisture/ hot air entering refrigerator, hot days, hot foods, regular opening, to close heat source, range/ oven. in cases like that, cleaning of refrigerator will normally solve that problem. (2) faulty defrost heaters, defrost thermostat , located in back of freezer side, you will have to remove shelves and back panel, to get access to it,also check your defrost timer and speed of fan, but first disconnect refrigerator, clean and try , before changing any parts. it could just be excessive moisture. always remember to disconnect your refrigerator before attempting any repairs, let me know what happened, then i could tell you exactly what's problem. good luck

Fridge not cooling

Now-a-days there is a fan acting as a blower which is responsible for circulation of col air when the doors are closed. It has a heater to remove extra moisture and i guess this fan is not working &thus no circulation of cold air is the crux of the problem ...........................sodeep

GE refrig Model # GSS25WGMD WW freezer is cool, compressor is running, but food is thawing out, ice has melted...not sure if I left door open ovenight, should I call repair..show long does it take to...

I pulled the refrig out from the wall, turned it off, took off the back panel (that covers the compressor fan and motor) and used the attachment on my vacuum to remove the dust from the area. Then I closed the flapper that allows the ice to release from the ice maker compartment to the dispenser, so no warm air would get into the freezer area. I plugged the refrigerator back in and within an hour it was freezing again! So far this week, I have had to repair the garbage disposal and the refrigerator.....I saved some nice $$$ by figuring this out by myself!
