I did the same thing with the same result. The only solution is to take it to a repairer, but check the cost first - it might be cheaper to buy a new camera.

Samsung Digimax S800 has lens stuck in open position. Replaced with fresh alkaline batteries, pressed on button, screen lit up for a second or so, turned off and gave 3 beeps. Any ideas? Thanks, Kevin

Did you accidentally drop it? If you did then there is a big chance that the lens is busted. If you didn't drop it, then it could be just dust/dirt inside the lens mechanism. Hold your camera with the lens facing the ground and then repeatedly tap it your camera gently - moderately to remove the dirt. You can also try spraying compressed air into it.

When turning on the camera it makes a fast tapping sound and then comes up lens error. Now this happened after i accidentally dropped my camera. Its an S70

When the camera gets dropped it causes all kinds of problems, from your description the lens has been damaged and is seized. To have this repaired would not be cost effective, cheaper to replace.

Hi,

Above is the link of Kodak's Helpdesk wherein you can browse for some tip. Since the camera was accidentally dropped, I believe you need to consult this matter to your nearest Authorized Dealer.

Thank you.

I have a canon powershot SD850 IS digital ELPH camera. Every time i turn the camera on it beeps three times and says "Lens Error, Restart Camera" then it shuts off.

Lens errors are displayed when the camera cannot move the lens or something is slowing it down.

Accidental damage may have occured including the possibility of it being dropped or having something spilled inside of it.

Determine whether or not you have a service plan on that camera from the retailed you purchased it from.
If not, call Canon for repair estimates. If it just happened all of a sudden this it may still be under the warranty. If they determine its accidental (or mainly not the cameras fault) additional charges will apply.

Casio Exilim EX-Z3 not working (accidentally dropped on carpet)

Does the lens retract when you shut the camera off? Or at least press the On/Off button?

It doesn't sound like there is a problem with the lens if your buttons aren't working, it sounds mostly to me that a cable got dislodged and that has disabled your buttons and zoom switch.

You can try sending it to this guy - www.darntoothysam.com he might beable to help you.
