Peace friend
ngfam1 at your service! Boy I love my job!

1-Has no power?
2-Won't turn on?
3-Or won't dry?

Sometimes you can have no heat when the vent line is clogged, or there is a fuse inside blown, or the old style electric dryers I've seen where the wire connecting to the element is loose and causes an arc spark like a spark plug with the electricity jumping across the gab and burning the wire off!.
I've found the connector in the older unit that looks like a male female connector, burnt and melted off too!

You can

1. Check if the lint filter is full and needs to be cleaned.
Try this first. This will give no heat!

2. Then check if the outside screen covering the exhaust vent is even half blocked with lint there will be no heat! This screen is to keep small animals out!
Try checking this second and if it is clogged or the spring loaded door is stuck closed try to clean the lint out of the corners of the flap door, and or remove the screen permanently!

I DID AND NO ANIMALS LIKE TO GET BURNT,IT'S HOT IN THAT TUBE!
2 years that mine is off and it's all is fine.

Remember that if a dryer is 9 years old or more It is usually not worth investing good money into bad equiptment!
The new washers of any model or cost level will be more of a money saver than them!
Water,power, and detergent!

Let me know what you do and how it pans out!

If none of these tasks remedy the heat problem then here is a good company that's found nation wide.
A&E Factory Service
A&E has schedulers available to take appointments 24/7
And they do warranty work too, for most manufactures!

You will be fine

Kenmore 90 Plus Series Gas Dryer that will not heat

It could be several other things thermal fuse, thermal cut out, hi limit thermostat, dryer coils, heat sensor,or igniter. All of these parts are inexpensive and easy to test and replace. There is a video at t http://appliancehelponline.com/gdryertroublevideo.html his will walk you thru the troubleshooting of these components. It may be a different model but the troubleshooting will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations. All parts come with installation instructions. Not all models are available. If you need help disassembling your machine there are videos of this also for most styles.

My Kenmore Series 90 dryer won't run as it appears the door does not hit the actuator. It would appear either the door has moved to a lower position or the actuator has moved up into the dryer. May I ask...

The door switch or actuator is broken. A common problem. On most Kenmore dryers this is replace by lifting the top. Since you haven't given the whole model number I will discuss raising the top on the most common model.

If your model has a lint filter at the top the slide show below should show you how to raise the top.

Kenmore Dryer

Disconnect power to unit. Lift the cover from the lint filter or if yours is the one with a filter and cover together, remove the whole filter. You will see 2 screws under the cover/filter, remove them. Now, you will need a putty knife or a thin shafted straight screw driver to remove the top panel. Push the putty knife or screw driver to "pop" the front top clips. The top panel will hinge back towards the wall and can be left there. Just inside the top of the front panel, you will see 2 screws, remove them. You will see the wires for the door switch on the right side. *** the top of the front panel toward you to gain access to the switch for replacement.

Reverse process for reassembly. Good Luck

My kenmore 90 series starts and heats up and about 15 or 20 minutes later it will shut itself off

there is a sensor in the exhaust that makes sure that the machine doesnt overheat and catch on fire. Normally this is because the exhaust port is plugged with debris. you will need to remove the exhuast port in the back of the unit and investigate. if this is not plugged then the overtemp sensor is faulty. Can I get your model number and serial number of your machine
