Back cover open message

I keep getting a message that says BACK COVER OPEN. PLEASE CLOSE BACK COVER. I have looked all around this printer and I do not see anything open. I have tried everything. Open and closed every compartment I can. I have even shut off the printer waited and turned it back on. Nothing seems to work.

I had the same error message. I also tried every compartment... Here's ultimately what my problem/solution was...

I turned the printer around and fully opened the back cover. I found that one of my kids had somehow fed a small piece of paper/cardboard into the printer. When I opened the back cover all the way I could see that obstruction (which I hadn't seen before). Pulled it out, and the error message went away. Works fine now.

This is the most useless response - what switch? which door? what do you mean by "put a piece of paper in" - it's a printer, there is paper all over the place. Can you be more specific, please.

Keeps saying cover is open/ please close the ADF cover

The message indicates that the printer door or the cover located on the top is not closed properly, so you need to re-open the door or the printer cover and close it accurately.

7. Close front cover too and see if it works! If your error will still appear, try powering your printer OFF & ON

I hope I helped you!

When I change the toner, the LCD shows "back cover is open, please close the back cover" where is the back cover?

The back cover is located on the back of the printer at the bottom. You can find it by looking for two tabs on the right and left that if pushed will allow you to open a paper guide that has two white wheels on it. Open this guide and then close it again so that the system understands that it is closed. That should solve your problem.

Message: Back cover open. Close the back cover.

You might have to turn it off and turn it back on to reset the message. I have a Brother MFC-240C and it does the same thing.

I changed the ink in my Lexmark 3400 printer and I keep getting an error message "cover open" and it's not open. I tried everything....unloading the software then reloading the software, shutting it off...

The printer displays a 'Cover open, please close cover' error message, even though the cover is closed.

This can happen if the lever on the cover open sensor is knocked off the switch assembly.

Message on brother MFC7420 "back door open" when it's not

Actually, you need to double check the back cover and front cover, open them all to check all paper jam.
Besure to check the back cover, normally all paper jam is from the back.
be sure to close the front cover at the last cover to close.

Error mesage

No solution, but I have the same problem. THe printer starts up fine, I hear no grinding noises or other "funny" nioses, and then displays no error message... UNTIL I ask it to print. Then I get a message that says, "Pls (please) Open Cover".

I open the cover and it says "Please Close Cover".

I close the cover and it says, "Please Open Cover"

and this happens forever!

Does anyone have any ideas? Can anyone help me?
