How can I get my HP all in one to scan? it's not doing anything but it is installed

Check "My Computer" and see if the scanner icon is listed. If it isn't then check the Device manager to see if the device is listed and it has the drivers installed. If all is well, open a program like Microsoft Word and see if you can scan a document with that application. You should find this around the pull down menus. Usually, HP has their own application to perform scans as well. Did you install their program?

I went to go burn a cd and it said that i have no cd burner on my computer but i know that i do, but my computer wont even play a dvd or a game, i think i might of accidentally uninstalled my cd drive, is...

Hi

Ok First to ensure that your CD-Rom / DVD is installed correctly

Goto the control panel if you can see a whole list of icons find and click on system

otherwise find Performance and maintenance and then click on system

now up the top of this new window find and click the hardware tab

finally click on the Device Manager button , this will bring up the Device manager window

in this window look for and expand by clicking the plus Icon next to DVD/CD-ROM Drives

if you see anything in here your CD drive is installed. You will probably find that either you optical drive is either disconnected and the ribbon cable connecting it to the motherboard will need to be checked , or you have got a faulty optical drive

If you cant see anything in here go back to the control panel and find add hardware if you cant see that icon click on printers and other hardware and in the left hand side bar click on add hardware.

This will bring up a step by step wizard

after clicking next on the initial screen windows will do a scan and try and detect any hardware devices that have not been installed yet. If on the next screen you are asked "Have you connected the hardware?" please open up your PC and check the ribbon connection on the reverse of the optical drive and make sure the power connectors etc are properly seated.

If this works follow the on screen steps and installation will be straight forward.

Hopefully this will solve your problems

Cheers.

If you have any other queries please respond

Thankyou
