I cant open up the scan icon and and scan anything at all .

    Im sorry I dont know much about ,scanner I have an anti virus programe running all the time ,yet it still doesnt work ,I am so baffled as to why it wont open and as to why I can open the printer and the other programes on the cannon series MX310 yet not the scanner its got me so grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !!

Maybe theres a virus on ur pc...just try to slave that driver then swan with kaspersky anti virus

Icons changed to word icons


Sad day, you've somehow got all of your files associated with word and will only open in word. You should be able to go to the start menu and open up programs that way. All the shortcuts on your desktop are not going to do anything for you.

How to get scanner to attach to e mail


Operate the scanner from the computer not the printer.
Have you loaded the MP Navigator progam from the cd supplied with the printer?
If not, do that first and then follow the steps below.
Double click MP Navigator icon on desktop.
Choose "custom scan with one click "
Save to pc. (" attach to email "only works on windows mail)
Open saved location and rename.
Write your email & click on insert drop down box
Click on "pictures inline "
Open pictures.
Open MP Navigator folder
Choose scanned item by name
Click on open box
Scan will appear under the text in your email.

I cant get the sound


Open the Control panel
2. Open the "Sounds and Audio Devices" icon.
3. Verify the "Place volume icon in the taskbar" checkbox is checked. If this option is not available or is grayed out, skip to the next section of this document.
4. If you were able to check this box, click ok and close out of this window and the Control Panel.
5. Double-click the sound icon in the Systray and verify that all the sound volumes are mid-way or higher.

Check Windows services. Right Click My Computer and Manage. Choose Services and Application > Services. Choose "Windows Audio" and set to Automatic and Start.
Now next you can do is
If you open control panel & click device manager the window that opens will show a list of all installed hardware. Look for anything with an exclamation mark beside it, or to do with sound. If you see anything, right click it, check it isn't Disabled then select "Properties." The next window should have some tabs along the top, the one you are looking for is "Driver," you should now see an "Update driver" button.
Check ur sound card information by doing this
Click on start menu
Click on Run
Type dxdiag, enter
Click on the sound tab
There is button of test direct sound click on this check if there is sound
Check ur registry. Check if the sound registry key is enabled or disabled. There could be an error in registry, run registry cleaner reginout to scan for errors.

CANT FIND MY DIRECTIONS-HOW DO I SCAN A PICTURE?

Based on your concern, i suggest tyring these steps:
1. Place the item you intend to scan in the appropriate place.

2. Locate the HP Solution Center programme, which may be accessible from a desktop icon.

3. Open up this programme by double-clicking on the icon, to enable you to scan and modify your picture.

4. Click on 'Scan Picture' Click 'Scan', and 'Accept' on the next screen to begin scanning the image on the printer.

5. You will then be able to modify the picture, crop as desired, and export to various programmes and formats as desired.You may also be able to print directly from this screen if required.

Can't scan anything


To scan a document, open your HP printer ICON on the desktop screen. Then choose "scan" and either picture or document. Make sure you put your paper that you want scanned into the printer before you begin. After you choose scan and picture or document it will automatically pull the picture from the printer and bring it to your computer screen. Then you either accept or reject it. If you dont have your printer software installed go to HP's website and download the full software to run the officejet and install it. You will know if you have the software by checking to see if there is a printer ICON on your desktop.

A security icon that wont let me do any thing but


Hi, Michelle.
Need a little more info...was this a "free" anti-virus program offering to scan pc/laptop free? for viruses?You didn't give any personal info out to it, did you?
Can you get to "safe mode"? If so, in safe mode go to control panel; add/remove programs;uninstall this program...if it won't let you, try doing a restore to a previous date prior to when you started getting this.
There is a "anti-virus" program that acts like a virus to get you to buy their removal tool.

CANON MX 320 SCANNER PROBLEM


You need to control the scanner thru your PC with canon software that came with your scanner otherwise you cant scan anything..first open the printer/scanner software ,select scanner,then place your document and command "scan" on your PC..thats it..

Scanning using the DX8400 printer


Hi,

You need to install the Epson Scanner Driver on your computer. The best way to do this is to install the sotware using the easy install facility. When the software installation has completed you will dind an Epson scan icon on your desktop. Double click this icon to run the scanner software.

The document to be scanned must be placed face down on the DX8400 glass just as making a copy, The scanning functions are all accessed from the PC.

Printer offline


First try to scan from the computer to check whether the connection is fine between the computer and the all-in-one. We experience this issue when there is no communication between the computer and the all-in-one.
If we are able to scan then remove the USB cable from the computer and open the printers and faxes folder in control panel if you are using XP. Then clear if there are any pending documents and right click on the printer icon and select user printer online and again right click on the F380 printer icon and click on properties >> advanced tab >> print directly to printer and click OK.
Now try to print from the notepad and check for the results.
If the issue persists then download the print diagnostic utility from the HP website and then run it.
