Problem for Siemens SpeedStream Modem (4100) (SS4100)
4100 flashing ethernet light

My 4100, after boot up, shows a staedy green power light and a flashing green ethernet light. No other lights are on. Is this problem due to the modem? or with SBC? Do I need a new modem? Thanks! Mike

If there is no blinking or solid DSL light, and the light comes on for a second when powering up, then the modem is fried. The light should ALWAYS be blinking, even if the phone line is disconnected. It is always trying to sync with the ISP, so if that syncing isn't taking place, it's time to junk it and go on.
