Question about Dyson DC05 Cylinder Bagless Canister Cyclonic Vacuum

Dyson DC04 i have a loose wire where the cable enters the cleaner how do i open the part where the on/off button is. A wire is loose probably but I cannot get to the interior to check its status. How can I take it apart? the plug is sealed but could it be a loose wire in there?

You have to remove the yellow switch but to do this there is a small hole at the side of the switch nearest to the machine you have to push something in this which will push the clip that is holding the switch if you can do this there is a screw behind this that allows you to remove the switch

retigh the loose wires, with screwdriver or resolder the loose wires.

if you nee buy something go to www.dyson.com and look for order.

DYSON DC04 how to remove switch housing to check


its most likely not the switch, check the power cord.. check where the cord meets to the vacuum. the cord could be going bad and most likely not a loose wire.

If it is at the on/off switch, you can carefully prise the yellow button out to reveal a torx headed screw. Remove the screw then the housing for the switch can be pulled out which should reveal your loose wire.
