Question about Hotpoint FFA90 Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

1 Answer

Water in fridge

Please can you tell me why there would always be a puddle of water in the bottom of the fridge (not freezer). I keep drying it off and when i go back several hours later its there again.

Does it mean the temperature is wrong? There are droplets of water running down back of fridge on the inside!

Thanks

Does this fridge have a gulley at the back with a drain hole in the middle? if so, the drain is blocked, push something flexible down the drain till water flows away freely

Why does my fride keep having water inside

sounds like the defrost drip tube is clogged, so when the freezer goes into defrost mode, the ice melts and the run-off water has no where to go. Look for a tube that runs out the back or underneath into a catch pan, and blow into it hard (like blowing up a balloon) if you heard bubbling like a straw in a drink... be aware you may just get a mouthful of water. if air won't go through, you may have to unclog it from the inside of the freezer by disassembling the interior back panel. If you are not comfortable with this call a service tech; and as always, unplug your frige before servicing

Fridge Freezer E402B not functioning properly.Solid red error light, with green light flashing up and dwn when push the = button. No air circulation to fridge, compressor seems to continious, also fridge

Natasha try this:
turn off the fridge's settings.
pull the power cord from the wall outlet
open the doors and keep them so for a few hours.
before these, take out the most perishable and keep in cool place.
after a few hours you may see a puddle of water under the fridge. clean the water and vaccum the fridge underneath and behind.
now reconnect power and set at recommended level. goodluck!

If you have located the drain pan, look for a flexible tube that extends into it. That's the drain line. You should be able to trace the tube back into the freezer section and you will be able to clean it

Doewoo no frost fridge freezer is working fine except that we keep getting puddles of water under the freezer door. any ideas. had about 4 years now

probably a blocked drain outlet or pipe. At the bottom rear of the unit, mine had a drain pipe blocked with a plug of mould (5/6 years old machine), apparently quite common. I detached the pipe and cleaned it out and replaced it.
From inside the freezer, I removed the lower back panel and thawed the ice build up on the drainage tray below the defrost heating element, leading to the pipe outside. The puddles of water that was appearing every defrost cycle have now stopped - permanently I hope. Hope this helps you

Ice keeps building up in bottom of freezer and on vent inside fridge and now fridge won't stay cold.

Clean the coil inside the rear access panel behind the unit with a spray air duster and check for this problem.

I just opened up the back of my Frigidaire Side by Side counter depth to find the drain hose was bent and collapsed coming right out of the bottom of the freezer and the pan was dry as a bone. It doesn't look like my drain hose has ever drained a drop of water. The freezer bottom is full of ice And the rust and chipping paint under the bottom of the freezer door along with the mysterious puddles of water every morning means the drain system definetely never worked. Frigidaire should be responsible for this. This, along with the ice maker rebuild I had to do,... after ice was spilling all through the fridge. I actually had warrantty left on that one and called customer support in India to find out I could make the repair myself. Yep I had to do it. Frigidaire you failed.

Whirlpool, water puddles on top shelf of fridge

If it is not from a plugged or misaligned defrost drain tube, then it is always from air leaking into your refer section. Check you door gasket to see if it is sealing correctly all around your door. Make sure your door is shutting tightly every time. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists.

Water drains into bottom of refrigerator and puddles in under the crispers.BKPJPP

Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove panel back/bottom of freezer..you may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat gun...you will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper towel...now you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curtain wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water drain..now it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the fridge is because the water has been leaking into the freezer and down the vent into the fridge instead of running into the drain hole...Please feel free to comment again if you need any further assistance. Jenn air side by side leaking water

to allow your fridge/freezer to be ice free a timed defrost phase apxx every 7 to 10 hrs occurres whe the ice is drefrosted the water shoud go via a collection tray to the top af the compressor to keep it cool the tray is situated at the bottom of the freezer side behind the panel youll find is probally blocked and the water is overflowing to the front instead of going the correct way if you tecn minded unplugh the appliance remuve the pabel and unblock the drain tray the panel is inside the freezer torward the bottom
