Olympus E10 pins bent on compact flash slot

That is correct. The camera should default and detect that a smartmedia card is now inserted to the camera and write the images to that card. As I stated earlier, the cards are independent of each other.

The compact flash slot in my Olympus E10 has two bent pins

You can also use the smart media card slot. The two cards function independently of each other.

Based on what you report the camera would need to be serviced. Regretfully all parts, accessories and repair service have been discontinued due to the age of the camera.
You may refer to the yellow pages for local camera repair centers who maybe able to offer parts and service on the camera.
As a loyal Olympus customer, our Customer Service Department is also available to discuss other options available to you.
They can be reached Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM until 7:00PM East Coast time, at: 1(800)622-6372 option 2 and then option 3.

How do i hook up olympus d-450 to computer

There is a usb cable that comes with the camera.

You can buy a smart media card reader on ebay for about $10.00 and it uploads way faster.

Hi

Your camera uses Smart Media memory cards, and they have been discontinued. Unfortunately there are problems with SM cards, and if I recall my Olympus symbols correctly the camera wants to format your memory card but is not able to because the card is defective.

Try another memory card if you can, Im sure you can find them used online. I think I have a pile of them but haven't bothered to test them or try to sell them as I tell people to stay away from cameras that use them.

Hopefully another card will get you running again.

Good luck from Darntoothysam com

Olympus c-300 zoom digital camera

The max i've seen verifiably used was 128MB. I have heard reports of 256MB used but could not verify. I currently use 128MB without issue.

Smart Media obsolete?

I have a fuji finepix 601 working with smartmedia cards, however the newer version of it, the 610 now has XD-cards which are even smaller. Olympus also is using XD cards for their new cameras. It looks like smartmedia is becoming obsolete indeed, as the maximum card size is 128 mb and other card form go much further. I don t see new cameras being sold with smartmedia cards, but the smartmedia cards are still sold in most shops, so it may be wise to buy an extra one if you want to use your olympus camera on the long term.

Smartmedia Panorama mode

I don't know what you are doing, but my Nikon 4500 has a panoramic feature. It has nothing to do with the memory card. When you put it in panorama mode, on the second and subsequent shots, it shows about 1/3 of the previous shot in the viewfinder. You line that up with your present shot, and take the picture. The Nikon software, on a computer, can probably stitch the photos back together. You can do the same thing in an image editing program.
