if you don't have administrative privileges on your Mac, you're subject to whatever limits your school staff sets. If you have only a basic understanding of Macs, you won't be able to hack the computer without the help of someone much more sophisticated.
Usually blocks are set by the school system administrator and cannot be unblocked because you do not have administrative privileges. Schools do this to avoid problems with FB and other social networking sites because they own the computers, and could face liability issues if there were problems caused by accessing those sites. Wireless internet works... wirelessly via the notebook's built in WIFI card. If you are talking about a cellular connection, then monthly fee's definitely would apply.
