The bottom freezer drawer keeps sticking. My husband is convinced all he needs to do is take it out and clean it but I am not so sure - its true that I stupidly left the drawer slightly open and we had a bit of a thaw inside. We have sorted that out - cleaned out the ice drawer which had all stuck together but still the main drawer itself wont slide properluy.

If water has infiltrated in the hangers (the slots thru the drawer slides) when the door was left open, then it has frozen in there later and now it blocks the movement of the drawer.
Take everything out, defrost the entire fridge, wash, clean and dry it thoroughly then see if the drawer still has problems sliding. Only then put everything back together and restart it.

Bottom drawer stuck on ge true temp gas range

Ah yes, the ultimate battle. Unfotunately if you want to get the bottom drawer unstuck yourself you're going to have to fight with it. The best way to get this drawer out other than asking your kids to try, is quick jerking motions back and forth holding both sides. Make sure you keep the stove secure while you battle this. If you can get it open some of the way, use a stick or something to try to jumble up all the pots and pans you have down there keeping it from opening. If you have nothing in the drawer, then maybe use a broom handle to pry it out, or have someone tilt the stove back to see what's restricting it. If worst comes to down to it, you can call a repair guy and watch him struggle to get it open.

Water collecting under the freezer drawer, then freezing

We just had a similar problem with our Maytag side-by-side in the bottom of the freezer. Just as you described...sort of a glacier on the floor of the freezer that slowly melts toward the door. After several attempts to remove the ice, only to have it form again, my husband spoke with a helpful sales person in an appliance center. He said there's a drainage plug/line on the back that's supposed to funnel condensation to the evaporation tray underneath. It gets clogged and frozen. Sure enough...my husband pulled out the freezer, opened the visible line and it was all frozen and full of gunk. He had to use a hair dryer to thaw it out, then flushed it. It was amazing how much stuff came out of there. We've had no more problem since.

Subzero 601R Extremely Difficult to Open

Hi,
This is a problem with freezers that have their drain outlet blocked.
Clean the doorseals anyway with a warm cloth and soapy water, then remove inner drawers. There should be an access panel at the rear to remove, and this will reveal the cooling coils and the drain at the bottom of these. You will need a short length of wire to clear the pipe. Make sure power is off while you do this.

Freezer door will not shut whilst drawers are in

Do you have an icemaker?  Be sure the ice maker drawer is in all the way.  This means pulling out the drawer and being sure the gears are lined up properly with the crank located in the back of the freezer.  If they are misaligned the drawer sticks out 1/2 inch (even though it feels firmly seated when you push on it) and the result is a freezer door that will not stay shut.  Believe me, this is experience talking.
